We went to all the Navagraha temples and the famous temples like Karbarakshambikai temple and Thirukadaiyur Abirami Amman temple. This visit will give us great satisfaction and make us feel good.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food are not as good in Coimbatore/Tirupur districts.
Not to be missed places are all the ancient temples including Markandeyan temple/Anjineyar temple in Thirukadaiyiu.

Activities & things to do: Couples who don't have babies can pray in Karbarakshambikai temple and also in Velankanni.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Better come by train till Kumbakonam, take a cab from there and reach out to all the temples.

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Oct 15, 2011
Kumbakonam and its surroundings is a place where almost all gods reside. your have temples for each planet, for persons who believe in all sorts of belief like dhosha, time, shani, etc this is place where they say there is a remedy(parihara) for all your problems with planets.raashi, etc. you also have temples for unmarried people, people without child, people with mental disorders and what not, your may need atleast two days to make a visit to all the temples of the nine planets. and atleast one day for enjoying the archtecture and beauty of the big temples in Kumbakonam.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Pure veg food is good and advised.Lot of hotels are there for staying.Even high end star resort is available apart from medium budget hotels. You will be forced to stay in A/C rooms.

Activities & things to do: Not even a single thing except visting temples.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Train service is available, lot of local buses. The place is always hot.

"Holy Visit to Kumbakonam"

  • 6.0/7
  • Posted Jul 27, 2011
Kumbakonam is the holy city I always willing to see twice or thrice in a year. The Ramswmy Temple, Adikumbeswr Temple, Chakrapani Temple, Sarangapani Temple, Sri Vijeyendra Theerthar's Brindavnam with Sri Raghvendra Mirtiga Birindavna are the places every one should visit. The holy Mahamakam Kulam is the one every one should see by their eyes will get blessings and get relieved from their sins. Afterweards we my visisit the Navgrraha Temples around Kumbkonm.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Mahamakam Kulam, The above said temples.and nearby places such as Patiswaram, Thiruvlalanzuli, Thararasuram, Swaminmalai, etc.

Activities & things to do: At lease three days should require to see all the Navagraha Temples and local temples in Kumbakonam.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: It is best advised to engage a vehicle to visit these temples and places. Avoid public transport, it is not easy to reach the places in time and should see only one or two places only during the entire day. It is easy and safe to reach Kumbakonam by Train connected mostly by all routes. If we use own car we should engage local drivers, since they know the routes and drive safely. According to my experience all the cab drivers are faith in god and behave friendly in Kumabakonam.
