The Holy Town Pushkar has a very strong significance in Vedas and Purans. The place has emerged as a must go touristic destination during the last few decades. The holy city attracts the tourists, traveler, pilgrimage from all over the world in all seasons. One of the most famous fair known as Pushkar Fair held every year on the occasion of Karthik Purnima admires it's grandeur. There are multiple temples, ghats in the holy city. The beautiful Aravali ranges and nice weather during the winter makes a perfect time to visit. During the Annual Pushkar fair the city gets massive crowed, if you want to visit during the fair must do your travel and hotel reservations in advance. Being a holy town, it does not serve liquor or non vegetarian foods. Whether you are a traveler, tourist or devotee even you are not one of them, Pushkar is highly recommended to everyone must visit once.

One of the holiest places in India with a blend of Hippy culture. With approximately 500 temples and 52 bathing ghats on one hand and a number of Homestays and Cafes with foreign cuisines and decors on the other.
Pushkar Lake and the Jagatpita Brahma Mandir being the most famous attractions of the hill surrounded city are densely crowded during the Pushkar Fair, a cattle trading fair that takes place on the Kartik every year.
Famous local dishes are Malpua, Dal Bati and Churma which are in abundance in the main market. Apart from local dishes Falafel was good in Il Padrino caffe.
Coming to the other side of the city towards the Panch Kund road where our hotel was is very peaceful and beautiful, away from all the hustle in the city. The city looks the most beautiful in the evening during the Sandhya Aarti at the Pushkar Lake.
If you are going for some peace/relaxation don't go there during the fair as it attracts about 2-3lakh people which makes it very crowded.

"A quaint lakeside jewel that filled with spiritual nectar"

  • Posted Oct 10, 2017
Brahmas lotus fell into this semi arid region to bloom into a weekend oasis. From quaint coffee shops after you meander through a riff raff of ghats and holy cows to luxurious lake view room stays there's a strange tranquil to this little town. A visit to the Ajmer-e-sharif shrine tops off the dose of spirituality to a relaxed mini vacation
