Ooty Experience: Ooty is name very popular with Indians. It is a hill station with different sight seeing destinations. The road or journey to Ooty is the most thrilling experience. The breath taking sight seeing starts the moment we enter Bandipur and Madumalai which are the Wild life reserves. One can meet animals like elephants, deers, monkeys of different species, peacocks, wild boars etc. It from Madumalai there are two routes to Ooty and both routes are special in their own way. If Gudlur routes takes us through different plantations and other scenes of baeuty,the Kalhatti route is a steep forest route with 36 hair pin bends. It has thick forest views with water falls etc. Coonur is the highest range of Ooty with awsome sceneries and sight spots. Ooty has deep and thick forests called Shola forest which has ranges of diferent tpyes of vegetations, streams and wild animals. Its other atttractions are Doddabetta, a beautiful view point where it looks as if we r standing above the sky during cloudy days.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Ooty is specialised with hotels and restaurants that serve every kind of food both vegetarian and non vegetarian. North Indian, South Indian, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Gujarathi etc etc. The most attarctive destinations r boating in Pykara lake, a ride in the train, Dodda betta, Coonur(Coonur is 'not-to-be' missed destination).There are botanical gardens with rare and old trees that r special to this place.
Activities & things to do: Just walking in the hill station is a beautiful experience. Other activities like trekking, boating, horse riding and shopping.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: One can reach Ooty via Coimbatore by flight. From Mysore one has to pass through Nanjangud, Chamrajnagar, Gundelpet, Bandipur, Madulmalai. From there we two routes-Gudlur route (ooty 60 kms) and Kalhatti route (Ooty-36 kms)
