Gangtok Experience: A bustling town in the hills, Gangtok for me has lost its quaint charm. It is more of a commercial tourist spot now. Nothing wrong about it, though I would have liked to see more of those old British settlements / houses than the present concrete and glass jungle.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Lot of options for a variety of food. We though frequented Gangtalk and Baker's Cafe on M G Marg. Dinners were at our hotel (Hotel Tibet).
Activities & things to do: Stroll around M G Marg and ropeway over Gangtok town.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Gangtok is a hot travel spot with lots of travel options. If you feel nauseated during uphill car / bus rides then you should take necessary precautions before embarking on the journey.
