Shillong Experience: I thought the place would be very friendly but its not. Here every shopkeeper asks only for change and talks very harshly. People are too arrogant as per my experience. Roads are overcrowded though it is in good condition.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is good, delicious but a bit costly. There is lack of a good and big shopping mall. The place is good for sight-seeing as it has many place for tourists.
Activities & things to do: Visit wards lake in the heart of the city and the botanical garden just near it. Visit cherrapunjee which is just 54KMs from Shillong.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You can get Tata Sumos from Guwahati the nearest airport. Beware of harsh driving by the sumo drivers as many trucks come at high speed.
