Ubud is very beautiful, you will see greenery all around, loved to ride my rented motobike as you see amazing ladsccapes when you ride, the terreace fields are a must visit, also there is a Bali Bird Park which is a 25 minute ride from Ubud (my favourite in Bali) where you get to interact with the birds and watch Bird shows

"Town with forest and river beds all over"

  • 5.0/7
  • Posted Jun 28, 2017
We did not stay at Ubud. We visited the palace, shopping area and went around Ubud to rice terraces and monkey forest. It was on the way to Mount Batur. We had nice coffee, samosas and masala dosas in an Indian restaurant. Driving around Ubud was nice with river in between and a real forest kind of greenery. The wind is fresh unlike the sea wind in Jimbaran, where we stayed.

"A day's treat"

  • 5.0/7

I would define ubud as a shoppers paradise ... To buy cheap clothes, souvenirs, paintings and a lot more. Ubud doesn't have much to offer besides a monkey forest which can be covered in 2hrs, a small palace and a market area. Surrounding areas offer some caves and
I would define ubud as a shoppers paradise and the best time to reach there in the morning to get the cheaper prices. Whether it's clothes, paintings, accessories ... It has it all. Besides this there is a monkey forest that can be covered in 2hrs .. Has friendly monkeys who don't harm if you don't harm them but definitely are all game to tk your things away and run. Besides this there are temples and a palace and a cave. Good for a day's treat ...

"A beautiful temple"

  • 6.0/7

This is the place almost full of temple. There is one place which is right inside the beach you need to go only in the low tide because in high tide you can go as its in the middle of the sea.

"Interesting city"

  • 4.5/7
  • Posted Sep 8, 2015
If you are interested in art and culture, it would make an interesting visit, else it can prove to be fairly boring. There is a fair amount of traffic and it was very crowded. We enjoyed the visit to Ubud Temple and Palace and were enthralled by the dance performances.
