Please tell me which is the best route from Bangalore to Velankanni?I know the following routes. Please tell me how is the road condition.
Bangalore > Salem > Trichy > Velankanni - 490 kms
Bangalore > Krishnagiri > Neyvlli > Valankannni - 430 kms
I know the road conditions of the first route above is in good condition. I'd like to know how is the condition of the 2nd route mentioned above.

As I have earlier posted, we will be going to Mahabalipuram. Now from Mahabalipuram we are planning to go to salem and from there pondicherry. is this the route or can we directly go from mahab to pondi? and if we visit salem, what are the sightseeing attractions around that place? any info will help.
