"trip to sariska in march 2013" new review

Sariska Experience: better than ranthambore. Terrain is better. Saw more wild animals than ranthambore. Lots of peacock, Cheetal, sambar are comon sites and a wild boar (pig), croc.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Since tourists were few in morning had to hire the full jeep for 3 of us (it takes otherwise) for rs. 2640/- net. Saw tiger pug marks but no tiger. better to have at least 2 families (ie. at least 2 neb) in the jeep as it got scary on a couple of occassions in the thick forest. Most interesting highlight was when we stopped for 10min at a resthouse in the park and lots of these birds (size of a crow) called tiger brush birds came and ate namak pare/ buiscuits from our hand, sta on muy head and felt totally un scared. it was better than Jurong bird park in singapore. Food is below average at Tiger den but the location is best next to the park. Staff is ok. went by own car from delhi 213 km . reached at .40 pm at sariska which was rather late for a single family. not at all advisable and must reach at least 2 hrs before sunset esp. at sariska. the drive from alwar to sariska is 30 km on hilly track. overall very good experience.
Activities & things to do: visit siliserh lake abt 19 km from sariska on way back to alwar and 4 km off the road. lots of langurs and lake is big and beautiful. not to be missed. can stay in lake palace. avg. room rent with breakfast and dinner is rs. 2350/- net at both places approx.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: can droive on own in car. take snacksd with you. reach 2 hrs before sunset. take woolens and warm caps or muflers even in march as early mornings are cold. canters were not seen and better time is 6.30 am. to visit park compred to afternoon. from delhi go to gurgaon then bhiwadi on the NH 8 and then on Al;war road from bhuiwadi 90 km straight to alwar. this is a very good road one way and lots of hilly tracts nearing alwar and worth driving. from alwar a 30 km hilly run to sariska.

"Trip to Sariska"

Sariska Experience: Nice place to go in winters! It was a pleasant weather in the afternoon and cold during night and morning! Great jungle safari! If lucky then u will see tiger!
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Our resort provided us with three times meal as included in package so we didnt go hunting for restaurants, but for sightseeing, their are temples on the mountains and the best is jungle safari!
Activities & things to do: You can do biking and jungle safari
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Hire a taxi or take your own car! We were dropped by our car! and then we did the sightseeing in the local rickety bus! Don't choose evening time to return from sariska! You will be stuck in the traffic with the trucks!

"To feel the nature"

Sariska Experience: Sariska is very near by destination for a weekend. The place where we can hear our inner voice away from this noisy and hectic life. Give the chance to be with the nature.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We didn't get the chance for sight seeing just had a safari and it was a wonderful experience. The time we went, there was some local festival is going on. The people are very simple and love to interact. We visited Hanumanji temple-(its a place where Hanumanji gace a lesson to Bhim). We fed monkeys over there that was really a fun. Over there we had a kachori with kadhi - a new experience.
Activities & things to do: Do a safari, visit near by palace and lake if you have time otherwise go and relax. Ithni shanti kaha hai yaha jo vaha per hai
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Sariska is well connected with the surrounding towns and it is not difficult to access. Yet, it is advisable to take your own vehicle or hire a vehicle for the entire trip. It is a 3 hour journey from Delhi The nearest main town to Sariska is Alwar

"So near Delhi/Gurgaon and yet so Pristine"

Sariska Experience: You would not believe the natural treasures that Alwar and Sariska have in store for you, that too being so near to one of the busiest metropolis of India, New Delhi. Travel time to Alwar/ Sariska from Gurgaon is NOT more then 2.5 hours comfortably by road. You can find a lot more info on SariskaSafari.com or AlwarSafari.com
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: For sure visit Pandupole inside the sanctuary.
Activities & things to do: All types of activities possible for Nature lovers - Tiger Sighting - Alwar has 3 very vast and beautiful lakes to its credit - Great farm houses for Winter camp fire - Old fort inside jungle (where once Aurengzeb kept his elder brother dara-shikoh in captivity) - Alwar and Sariska is a full package of Nature and Heritage
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Travel by Road: From Gurgaon IIFCO chowk Alwar is not more than 130 KM and Sariska some 30 KM still further. Most of the time you will drive on National Highway - so no problem.

"OASIS IN RAJASTHAN!"

Sariska Experience: Its a very nice weekend destination - away from the usual hustle bustle of cities, lush green, very peaceful. not much of places for stay, but whatever few resorts available gives you worth for money! i personally was surprised with lot of greenery all around with enchanting birds - hard to believe you are in rajasthan! perfect place to relax!
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: As for food, all resorts include all meals packages as there are almost nil other restaurants/ dhabas. food served is of good quality, limited menu and dont expect pizzas, chinese or burgers! one of the star hotel may serve all these. For the sight seeing, obviouly its the wild life safari - now with two tigers added to it! we missed them by a whisker! otherwise the jungle is full of all types of deers, jackals, wild boars, rabbits, different birds- kingfishers, peacocks, wild hens, all. Ponds are full of fishes. best thing is, during your safari rides, all these wanders on and around ur way! other places are pandupole bajrangbali temple- about 20 kms inside t sanctuary and as the name suggests it is related with pandavs who had spend some time here during their agyatvaas! not to miss a outing to silised lake, just about 20 kms towards alwar. its a huge lake, surrounded all around by moutain ranges with a rtdc hotel encroaching in it! one can stay there also or can just have meals/snacks. boating is there. best part is no moblie network works there- total peace of mind! shopping point of view, good news for hubbies- nothing to shop for! too good for ones pockets!
Activities & things to do: activities-- safari, boating at silised lake, and whatever your resort has in offer locally. one can also enjoy a drive!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: connected by road only, just 30 kms from alwar( nearest railhead) or jaipur at 100 kms ( railhead, flights , roadways). roads tend to become bumpy as you start reaching sariska may b 25-30 kms stretch. make sure to carry some warm clothes, it can become very cool during early morng n late evng plus make sure of your accommodation one day prior if u r booked in rtdc hotels as it is cancelled without notice in case forest officails r there! we faced this as once on our day of booking coincided with tiger project of sariska!
