"wonderful memories"

Sasan gir Experience: sasan gir is famous for safari. we went there through diu. it is a place where u can enjoy lion safari only. there is nothing commercial. it is not over crowded like other places. very nice place for lion reserve.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: we had taken two safari tours on two consecutive days, and both the time we were lucky to see lions in a group. it made our tour very happy. the food at the resort is satisfactoy , also there are other places for change of taste . no need to shop anything

Activities & things to do: we enjoyed all leisure activies at hte resort. mostly we enjoyed sports and swimming. also the library and roaming around.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: we went there by car. as we r fond of long driving, we enjoyed it.diu is also not very far from here so we had also stayed there for 3 days and enjoyed the beach. no need to carry anything special.

Sasan gir Experience: To view the only natural abode of the asiatic lion. A very well managed wildlife destination of India.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Essentially a wildlife resort. No shopping or restaurants outside your resort. A lot of sight-seeing in the wild for the nature enthusiasts.

Activities & things to do: Besides the trips to the jungle, you could take excursions to the tribal villages, gur making factories and nearby destinations of Somnath, Girnar, Jetpur, and Junagadh.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nearer airport is Diu, but very few flights. Rajkot is the best airport nearby and the road to Sasan from there is good.

"Thrilling experience at Sasan Gir"

Sasan gir Experience: Jungle safari at Sasan Gir Forest is a very thrilling and adventurous experience for nature lovers. We can watch Wild animals like the Blue Bull, Antelope, and the king of the jungle, the Indian Lion at their natural habitat.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food available at most of the resturants are fresh and delicious. For sight- seeing we have to go for the 3 hrs Jungle safari arranged by thr forest department, and luckily you can see the lions face to face on your ride through the jungle. Shopping outlets are limited.

Activities & things to do: Should go for the 3 hrs Jungle safari arranged by thr forest department, and luckily you can see the lions face to face on your ride through the jungle. If not lucky to see the lions in the safari then should visit the park where the lions and leopards are kept free same as their natural habitat.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: To visit Sasan Gir it is advisable to travel with your own car. Road is comfortable via Junagadh. Do not try to enter the jungle during night time, it is dangerous also punishable by law.

Sasan gir Experience: It was fantastic. The hotel was amazing and even the forest was amazing

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: food was delicious. You have a got an amazing wild life to see. The market is outside forest but yes you will get good places to spend your money.

Activities & things to do: Chilling and enjoying wild life itself is an activity

Sasan gir Experience: Only Asiatic LIONS to spot in entire Asia at SASAN GIR , Gujrat. Amazing hotel deals & properties to choose from. We stayed at Club Mahindra

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We are Jain, so Gujrati & Marwari Thalis were our favourite. Devalia Park, Shopping is cheap & traditional products. you also get Forest Momentos (t-sHIRTS & MORE)

Activities & things to do: Gir Mountain Trek & more for activities. AS IN RESORTS

Sasan gir Experience: The Gir land and area is full of green belt and I like that place because i like jungle

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is excellent and if i need the food at jungle side they provide

Activities & things to do: I was not doing any activity just enjoy the nature and jungle

Sasan gir Experience: Sasan Gir is one of the best touring place in Gujarat. It is famous for its Asiatic lions. I've seen LIONS moving freely in the forest. I was a gr8 thrill I have in my life.Its a good destination for nature lover, you can see wild life in their natural mood n place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is ok. Other than forest there is nothing for sight-seeing & shopping.

Activities & things to do: Jungle safari

Sasan gir Experience: After reaching Sasan gir one is anxious to obtain a permit to enter the sanctuary. Once it is done, there is always a doubt in the mind whether I would be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the royal family. If you are lucky, then you might see a lion. I was most lucky since I was able to sight four lionesses lying lazily in the shade.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Good food(veg), shopping at the govt. outlet is enjoying and carefree because of its genuine quality.

Activities & things to do: Only aim is to get a ticket to the wildlife safari.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Vadodara to Junagarh by train. There are ample govt. run buses for Sasan.

Sasan gir Experience: Sasan Gir is one of the best touring place in Gujarat. It is amongst top 3 forests of India. I've seen LIONS moving freely in the forest. I was a gr8 thrill I have in my life.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: OK Food & other sight seen. It is undeveloped area of Gujarat, So apart from Forest there is nothing. Not even good restaurant.

Activities & things to do: With in the Hotel premises There are some activities & things to do or else there is nothing.

Sasan gir Experience: Its a good destination for nature lover, you can see wild life in their natural mood n place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Naturally cooked 'kathiyawadi food', is biggest attraction n not to be missed thing you can enjoy food near their farm made by local women with good taste n served with love..

Activities & things to do: To visit national park, to visit devaliya safari park..you have to take government permit to visit national park.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Best to travel by road, you can enjoy forest in between, also has rail facility but very limited connectivity due to narrow gaze line

Sasan gir Experience: Sasan is very famous place in Gujarat, and nowadays becoming the busiest travel location in Gujarat, which has Asiatic lions century reserve.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Gujarati and vegetarian food you can find easily over there..

Activities & things to do: Bird watching, Jungle safari and Nature walk

Sasan gir Experience: Probably best time for the lion safari would be summer. That would be time lions and other animals will come to water tanks provided along the path. Otherwise, rest of the time you have to be lucky. Near small preserve Devalia is good place to see the lions.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Not much to shop other than t-shirts. Somnath is other nearby place worth visiting. Junagadh fort is other option. If you can go up 10000 steps, Girnar temples would be another option.

Sasan gir Experience: The sasan Gir, (Forest Reserve Area) is located in Junagadh District, of Gujarat state in India. It houses and accomodates Asiatic Lions in plenty of numbers moving freely with their family. In this forest tribal area human being is also living along with their families in small villages along with lions families since more than 100 years. Very few or almost NIL incidences are found noticed lions attacked the human being at any time. Here lions and their family either rest in the after noon under the tree or are moving on public roads for evening walk, where human being pass by either walking on public roads or in an open Bullet drivan Tempos (popularly known as chhakda). Come here, stay and ejoy your presence with Asiatic Lions in the dense forest of Sasan Gir. Pl. Note the Asiatic type of lions are noticed no where else in India in any sanctuary except in zoo. They are found in African countries except in Sasan Gir, India.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The Gujarat state is a Liquor free state and most of the population living in Gujarat are Vegetarian. Though Non Veg Food is available in certain international standard hotels, but most of the Hotels serve only Gujarati, India, Continental foods in vegetarian mode only. No alchohol is freely available and can be taken in any hotels in entire Gujarat state. The world famous Shiva temple and one of the Jyotirling SOMNATH Temple is just 50 Kms. Away. The famous beach of Diu and Veraval Port is also near by. The Shakkarbag Zoo of Junagadh and the Place of Maharaja of Junagadh is also nearby within the 100 Kms. perriphery. Approx) and from Rajkot (250 Kmts.Approx) by road in privately hired personal vehicle or local operated Government operated State Transport Buses or Private Luxury Buses. The best travel season is from July to December (mostly up to October end).Please carry with you Sports shoes, a walking stick, Jeans or Heavy cotton pants or trousers, T-Shirts, Open Shirts, shawls, or Wind Cheaters, or Leather Jackets to bit the cold in forests. Many hotels arrange fire camps in the evening or night in the hotel compounds for enjoyment. Please also carry with you a Torch, Camera, first aid box, etc. WARNING: Please do not carry with you musical instruments or mobiles or Iphons with you which can be played with loud music in the forest areas. The camara to be used should be Flash free for use in the forest areas.

Sasan gir Experience: Its one of the best places in world with the rare Asiatic lion, In fact Gir being the only place in the world where the Asiatic lion roars in the wild.

"Beautiful Gir"

Sasan gir Experience: Sasan Gir in Gujrat is not very famous and hence its not yet commercially exploited. Its a very beautiful place. We went for a 3 hr jungle safari organised by our resort, Lion Safari Camp. Our resort was only tented accomodation. The tents were much beyond our expectations, they were beautiful, air conditioned and very very cozy.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The hospitality of our resort was very good. The staff was very warm and welcoming. We took the jungle safari at 6.30 am which was amazing, we could spot many animals and the jungle was quite and the air was fresh and dew drops on trees were looking like diamonds. We went by a 4 wheel jeep which could be driven on any terrene. Bird watching by the river in front of our resort was an unforgettable experience.

Activities & things to do: In Gir National Park the main attraction is Kamleshwar Dam where you can see crocodiles, birds and mind blowing views of nature with water and hills surrounded with wildlife like asiatic lions, leopards and deers. There are different species of snakes and you can see pythons also.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We went driving from Mumbai to Gir. It was around 850 Kms but my husband and I are driving freaks so we loved the drive. Other ways of reaching Gir are to go by train or air or bus. Junagarh and Talala are the nearest railway stations. Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar are the nearest airports to Sasan Gir.

Sasan gir Experience: The seven major perennial rivers of the Gir region are Hiran, Shetrunji, Datardi, Shingoda, Machhundri, Godavari and Raval.,More than 400 plant species;The Asiatic Lions habitat is dry scrub land and open deciduous forest.Gir National Park and Sanctuary does not have a designated area for tourists. However, to reduce the tourism hazard to the wildlife and to promote nature education, an Interpretation Zone has been created at Devalia within the sanctuary. Within its chained fences, it covers all habitat types and wildlife of Gir with its feeding-cum-living cages for the carnivores and a double-gate entry system.about 100 spotted deer, about 100 Nilgai (or Bluebull), about 15 wild boars, about half a dozen sambars and blackbucks, and other mammal and reptilian species along with birds. In addition limited number of tourists are allowed into the sanctuary on designated routes. The best time to visit the area is outside the monsoon season.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sasan Gir is for the asiatic lions & other willdlife. There is no other activity here.The place survives only on tourists. The gateway hotel, gir resort by Taj. for accomodation. Needless to say.. Taj is Taj! best facilities offered & good healthy food.

Activities & things to do: Girnar trekking , situated near Junagadh, at a distance of 6 km situated Mount Girnar which is considered holy by Hindus and Jains. Girnar has five principal peaks Ambaji, Gorakhnath, Guru Dattatraya, Oghad Ansuya and Kalka. Out of these five Gorakhnath is the highest and is 3666 ft. above sea level and the lowest peak is 648 ft. above sea level. The area of Girnar hills is 70 miles. . To climb the hill, a step way is built up of wide and convenient steps and on the either side of the way there are waiting spots, water places and devasthans (prayer place). The Jain temples are very old and ancient, the foundations and the plans are unchanged.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The weather conditions here are very extreme as summers here are hot and dry with temperatures reaching a maximum of 44⁰ Celsius. The summer here ranges from the months of March to June. The region receives monsoon in the months of July, August and September in form of moderate rainfall. The best time to visit Girnar is during winters, in the months of October to January with a minimum temperature of 10⁰ Celsius.Reaching there is easy by train /bus /air.

"Enjoying nature with King of animals"

Sasan gir Experience: Sasan Gir is a dream come true if you are nature lover. You get to see Lion, Monkeys, Sambar, Deer, Nilgiris, Peacocks, Monitor lizard, jackals, and many more exotic birds if you are lucky. To add to this visit the nearby temple towns of Somnath and Dwaraka will be enchanting.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Staying in Mahindra holidays is peaceful, enjoyable food and maintain your decorum.Tents are also available for staying for a larger groups.

Activities & things to do: Book a safari ride to Gir and see the animals in their best in nature. Knowing the birds with help of a guide could be nice. Carrying a good camers and knowing how to take pictures in a slow moving vehicle is an experience One full day will go on the nature trail. One evening will go in the temple seeing especially evening Arrti at 7 pm. Also one full day will go for seeing Dwarak temple. Carrying food in food box will be advantageous instaed of doubtful roadside stalls. A booty of soveniurs possible to carry back home from all these places. A four day stay will be helpful and nice.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Fly to Diu or Pobandar or Rajkot and travel by car with help of the hotel. Alternate travel by train to Veeraval or Rajkot and to the hotel. All these places are comparitively lonelier & not so good roads and hence multiply time factors by 2 to get time taken to reach destination. Do not think you can book a car after reaching the airport. It is not done that way and you may get starnded on the airport itself and taken for a ride.
