Sriperumbudur town is situated in the Kancheepuram District in Tamil Nadu. The destination is the birthplace of the Vaishnava saint, Sri Ramanujar. The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial, Vallakottai Murugan temple and Madras Motor Sports Club are the main attractions of the town.
The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial is the place where the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in 1991. The memorial was constructed by the Central Public Works Department. Another popular tourist attraction is the Vallakottai Murugan temple that is believed to be around 1200 years old. The main attraction of the temple is the idol of Lord Murugan, which is the tallest statue in the entire state. The Madras Motor Sports Club is popular for hosting events like the All India Motor Race Meet and the South India Rally.
