About Tithal Tourism

Tithal is located in the west coast of India, in the state of Gujarat. It is close to the Arabian Sea and is famous for the Tithal Beach, which is known for its black sand. Tithal lies 6 km west of Valsad. Tithal is known to be the home of the Parsis, who are the descendants of the Zoroastrian group of Iran. The Parsis are known to have entered India through a port called Sajjan which falls in the district of Valsad.

Over the years the areas around Tithal Beach have turned out to be a place chosen by many saints as an ideal place to establish their ashrams. Both the temples (the Shantidham Temple and the Shri Sai Baba Temple) being close to the sea shore provide a good view of the Arabian Sea.

The Shri Sai Baba Temple is adjacent to the shore of the Tithal Beach and the daily prayers are attended by many devotees from all over the world. The Shantidham Temple is also a popular religious destination located east of the Tithal Beach. Valsad which is the district where Tithal is located is the largest producer of mangoes in the state of Gujarat.

The nearest railway station to Tithal is the Valsad railway station which is also a major rail head of the area and is well connected to all the major cities in India. Vadodara which lies at a distance of 200 km from Tithal is the nearest airport to reach the destination. The airlines serving Vadodara are Air India, Jet Air, Indigo and several others.

The best time to visit Tithal is from October to March.

2 Tithal Traveller Reviews

"Worth a visit" new review

Tithal Experience: Tithal is a sea side small place. It is reachable, once you arrive at valsad. From there you can hire a auto to reach at resort. and also, you can reach salty beach resort since it's only resort/ hotel on tithal beach. there are two to three near by, but location is not as good as salty beach resort.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: food at salty beach resort was good one. Morning brakefast, though not much choice, still good one. one has to depend on mineral water bottles, since water is salty all around!!! over all stay at salty beach resort was good one. though no specific sight seeing is there, except beach site, but still if you love beach side, its worth a visit.!!!
Activities & things to do: just relax and chill!!! you need not do any thing. just relax -watch TV or your favourite books or magazines or stroll around!!!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: one can reach balsad (valsad) through train or bus or taxi, and from valsad it's 10-15 minutes drive.

"Tithal-a tiny peaceful weekend destination with limitations" new review

Tithal Experience: A small village on coast having a very very long beach patches of good spots all along the beach mixed with dirty spots, the new Swaminarayan Mandir at beach is good spot having good accommodations for their community people and restaurant like place for all. The village is small with limited activities spots. Ok for weekend for a day or two. Next is the New Saibaba Mandir built on the other end of beach having good space.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Very long beach, Good New Swaminarayan & Saibaba Mandir and two old Jain Temples away from beach. Road to Tithal from NH-8 is good.
Activities & things to do: Just rest, go to temples have snacks at Swaminarayan Mandir, Take rest at Swaminarayan Mandir under shadows of trees planted and brought up very well, go to beaches and enjoy like small chowpatty of mumbai having stalls of eateries, coconuts, cold drinks etc
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: from Mumbai by NH-8 (mumbai-ahmedabad highway) turn left after Atul on NH-8 Distance 170KM from Dahisar Check Naka
