"Extrordinary trip" new review

Vagamon Experience: Last Months I went to Vagamon with my friends We spent 3 days travelling around Vagamon and I will never forget it. We saw lots of things like the Back waters and we went to a tiger reserve. Our guide was called Krishna and he was really really nice especially when I didn’t always understand things he would explain it to me and answer all my stupid questions. Also when I got ill with a fever he was really kind and gave me medicine (and got a priest to give me a blessing in a Hindu temple we visited) and I got well again very quickly.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Elappara shopping mall
Activities & things to do: Camp fire
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: chennai to cumbum and elapara

I love this place for the peaceful & Beauty of the nature The early morning sunrise @ mottakundu was a wonder full experience which i felt near God...Its a very good place for mind relaxation from our day to day stress. I love to visit this place once again. There are some good resorts to stay in Vagoman

Activities & things to do: An Early morining walk on the mottakundru & City visit by local transport will be a good experience. You can visit near by places like Thekady & Kuttikanam for a day.

"My Beautiful Vagamon visit"

Vagamon Experience: I am Raja from Pondicherry and I love travelling a lot in general. During July 2011, I planned to visit Vagamon in Kerala. So first few days I visited Courtallam; as the season was very good I stayed there for couple of days. Then as per my original plan I visited Vagamon. So one fine morning around 10am I started by my car from Courtallam and drove towards Punalur. One the way we stopped in Palaruvi which is the most beautiful water falls in Kerala spend some time there and continued my trip on the way I stopped in Thenmalai which is a famous ecotourism spot due to time constraint I collected all the information from the tourist information centre and continued my trip again. I crossed Punalur and stopped at Pathanamthitta to full fuel by credit card, yes it is only town where we can swipe our credit card on the way to Vagamon. Then I continued my trip to Vagamon, crossed Raani, Erumeli, Kanjirappalli, Erattupetta and atlast reached Vagamon at 4pm and I had covered 190 Kms exactly to reach the spot. Yes it is a long trip but a beautiful drive in the hills with cool breeze and mist. I found a good home stay at the heart of the town. I took rest and went round the places next day. It is really beautiful and I have never been to place like this in my life time. Especially the home stay, I felt as if I stayed at home, they gave coffee daily at 7am in the morning and medicated hot water to drink. Of course we can not get Tamil Nadu food in the afternoon but morning and night food are seems to be ok. We have to take these foods in the hotel only which are nearby home stay. The home stay room has 3 beds, one double and one singe, were husband and wife and two children can stay comfortably. The view point from the hotel is also very good and the hospitality is amazing. We have good phone connectivity (Airtel, BSNL) and also good internet connectivity if you are travelling with data card (BSNL). I stayed for two days and left the place; even on the day I left they filled all my bottles with medicated water. I left the place as if I am leaving my family. Surely I will go again with my family to stay in the same place. The places to be visited are Kuruchimala ashram and cow form, meadows walk, lake, water falls, suicide point, pine forest, small murugan temple, boating, etc. On the way back I took the route to Cumbam through Ellapara, Kattapana, Puliyamala, Cumbam mettu and Cumbam which seems to be shortest to Theni instead of going through Kumili.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The places to be visited are Kuruchimala ashram and cow form, meadows walk, lake, water falls, suicide point, pine forest, small Murugan temple, boating, etc. Of course we can not get Tamil Nadu food in the afternoon but morning and night food are seems to be ok. We can get these foods in the hotel which are nearby home stay. Not much shopping as it is only a place to relax and get refreshed.
Activities & things to do: Trekking, long walks on the meadows, boating, etc.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Warm clothes, Umbrella, better to take bubble top (water) if you are planned to stay for a long time, torch and buy some medicine available locally to protect you from leaches.
