Velankanni is a beautiful visiting place for all people. It is near the sea & the entire complex area of the church is well maintained & supervised. Provision for all requirements of the visiting people are done by the authorities. How beautifully & neatly the church complex is maintained! The main hall prayer hall & all concerned annexures are in the best looking manner. Utmost care is attributed for all the simple items.. Really the velankanni tour is a pleasant happy experience.

The trip was very nice and peace full. Velankanni is not a tourist place it's a holy place. Climate is very hot in September. In the day time very hot and night is so cool. So I advise please keep an umbrella in hand and take the camera. I forget it so I could not take any pictures. In Velankanni, the food is very poor in the church canteen.

  • 4.5/7
  • Posted Aug 18, 2014
We planned to go there for a month. It's pilgrimage place for my family members. We got a room near the beach. Just for a change we carry all the things from home, vessels, groceries, vegetables, rice. We just bought fish. Two days and two nights we stayed there. First day we bought shrimps and cooked. Second day we got some local special fish and cooked. Both the evenings we went beach and church. Our room was located middle of the church and beach. Beach was a good place to relax and church for prayer.

"Very good place to get blessed from Mother Mary"

  • 7/7
  • Posted Jul 3, 2014
Very good place to get blessed by Mother Mary. Also if you go with your family, you can feel the trip as a best one in your life. You can get both blessing from Mother Mary and can get the more love from your family by the grace of Mother Mary. I don't know what to say other than this. Its better to feel & realize instead of hearing from others.

The trip was very good. I with my family stayed for a long time in the church, praying. There was not much rush and very good ambiance indeed. Very peaceful and calm. My purpose of the visit was religious and had an excellent experience. I also did a bit of shopping and also visited the beach which was good.

"Enjoy some good time with family"

  • 4.5/7
  • Posted Feb 7, 2014
Overall experience was very good. I stayed with my family and it was a very nice experience. Velankanni church is a pilgrimage centre where people should visit every year. This is one of the good religious places to visit with your family. The transportation to Velankanni needs to be improved. It needs attention from the authorities. Logistics are very bad and during peak season (Mother Mary Fest), the vendors fleece you.

Velankanni church is a pilgrimage centre where people visit every year. Most people visit in September, but throughout the year people visit this. From Bangalore it's around 550 kilometers. The road till Tanjore is very good.In Velankanni people used to have rituals like shaving head, offering coconut saplings and human organs which are available at the church counter.
