About Yellapur Tourism
Yellapur is in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. Yellapur is a quite little town nestled in the Uttara Kanara District. With its ideal location, picturesque surrounding and serenity, this place is a fine retreat. Surrounded by thick forests from all sides, the rich biodiversity at Yellapur has of many distinct species of flora and fauna. Yellapur known for its natural beauty is also famous for its gifted falls and attractive hills and valleys. Satoddi falls, the most stunning falls in Karnataka is located 25 km from Yellapur town. November to April is the appropriate time to visit these famous falls. The side road beside the Kali River is magnificently beautiful, particularly during evening hours. Magod falls is near the village Magod itself, about 1.5 km from the town on Yellapur -Karat Highway. This waterfall is located 19 km away from Yellapur. In Magodu village, the Bedthi River takes two separate jumps from a height of 650 ft. into a rocky narrow valley. The heavily forested landscape, the water and the scenic location unite to make this spot a perfect choice for outings. Close to the falls is Jenu Kallu Gudds, a sun set point, where one can view the sun slipping down. Nearby is located another picturesque village among calm mountains, Kalache, which is 30 km from Yellapur. While reaching Yellapur, a beautiful pond adds to the picturesque scene. Known as Kavdi Kere, the shining grass and the beautiful hills, adds to the beauty. The Kavadiamma/Durgadevi Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga enjoys popularity among inhabitants. "Small Town"

Yellapur Experience: Yellapur is a small town located in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, you will get this town en-route to Karwar from Hubli

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The town is too small, just the one road (the Highway), there is a Hotel called Pai's sambhram Lodge & a Resort The Banana County, a couple of small restaurants. 1) Satoddi Falls 25 kms, please do not go to this place during rainy season. 2) Magod Falls is about 20 kms away.

Activities & things to do: Nothing much to do here except for visiting these two water falls and yes if you are keen on trekking this would be a very good place, you can walk deep into the forest, mountains, etc

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We travelled from Bangalore to Goa, we took a break en-rout and stayed at yellapura Banana County. Its about 50 odd kms from Hubli Bye-pass, the road is good through out.

"Holiday at Yallapur"

Yellapur Experience: the place is awesome consisting of many places major water falls and temples the climate is cool and very suitable for picnic and weekend.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: the food provided by the Hotel Pai Sambaram was good and very tasty. specially the breakfast will be very tasty with local menus.

Activities & things to do: arraigning the guide to show all the spots of the yallapur.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: from hubli it is 60Kms and very convenient way to reach

"A good calm place if you like to explore"

Yellapur Experience: Nearest railway station is Hubli from there Yellapur is 2 hours journey by road... We stayed at Banana county which is located forest and its a great experience. At night it Pitch black which you never get to see in Mumbai... We used local guide support which was cheaper than the resort was providing... The walk upto the resort from main road is quite enjoyable and serene through a forest and raw foot road... The Sathodi falls are amazing and worth the whole visit ! Besides there are many other good spots, and traveling to those sots is also a good experience due to hick green forests and wonderful scenery !

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food in Banana county was ok....They sometimes make local specialties...

Activities & things to do: Resort does not have much activities....but has a good garden...

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Always catch a local driver who will take you to places....You can go to Shanbag hotel on the main road, the owner there will help you to get a good guide / driver !

"Yellapur - the best place to visit!"

Yellapur Experience: Hello every one.... have you ever been to Yellapur...if not just plan a trip and enjoy.... lots of places are there to see... the best places in Yellapur are Magod falls, Satoddi falls, Kawdi kere, Kuli magod falls, Jenkal gudda.. and one more amazing place is Kodsalli dam, very near to Yellapur..

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: As i mentioned earlier, Magod falls and Satoddi falls are the best falls ever... you can easily reach Magod falls but it's quite difficult to reach Satoddi falls... Yellapur is the best place for sight seeing but not for eating:(. Apart from Banana county, none of the hotels are hygenic... the only thing not in favour with Yellapur is hotels..

Activities & things to do: Yellapur jatre is the best thing ever seen;)

Yellapur Experience: Yellapur is truly a tourist's delight with verdant nature and un-spoilt beauty so rare to find these days in India. A relatively unexplored destination, it has 2 awe-inspiring water falls in Sathodi and Magod falls.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: just let yourself into nature's arms at Yellapur

Activities & things to do: Trekking and sight seeing.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Bangalore-Take NH4 till Hubli and then get on to NH 63 which goes to Ankola.

Tourist places in Yellapur

Yellapur, a town situated in the Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka, has a varied topography, that includes dense forests, streams, rivers and hills. The town is known for the Magod Falls and the Satoddi Falls that are visited by tourists, mainly during the monsoon season. Magod Falls is situated at an altitude of 650 ft, while the Satoddi Falls is 15 m high. Unchalli Falls or Lushington Falls, discovered in 1845, is around 5 km away from the Heggarne village.

Some of the prominent attractions in the region are the Vibhuti Falls, Mystery of the Burning Flame, Maskatti Rock Formation and Tribal Colony. Places like Jenukallugudda Sunset Point, Kavadikeri Lake and Kalimath Temple can also be visited, while in Yellapur.
