Bangalore to Coorg

I need to travel from Bangalore Railway Station to Club Mahindra. I reach Bangalore at 8:00am.

1) If i go by taxi, how much would it cost..and once i reach the station, how do i book it?

2) Some1 suggested me to go by bus. If i decide to go by bus, how do i go about it. Any websites or number to inquire on.. Once i reach the station, how do i go ahead for bus booking. Any details would be appreciated

Given the location of resorts like Club Mahindra in Coorg--you are better off taking a taxi from Bangalore. And take a clear map with you. I am not sure of the direct access by bus. When we made the trip in May 2008, we chose to retain the car for the whole stay--you need to otherwise pay the taxi both ways even if it were to drop you one way to the resort from Bangalore.

Hi,
Bangalore to Madikeri is 254 kms. (Bangalore Ramanagaram Channapatna Maddur Mandya Shrirangapattana Mysore Elivala Bilikere Hunsur Piriyapatna Kushalnagar Madikeri). After reaching Kushalnagar, you can find the road map to reach Club Mahindra or you can enquire anyone there.

There are buses from Bangalore and as mentioned below, you can visit the website for details. You can also travel to Mysore and take a bus or cab fom there.

Taxis charge Rs.6/- per km for non-ac indica or similar car. So, you can calculate accordingly.

I suggest that you go by KSRTC Volvo bus to Madikeri. Club Mahindra resort is around 5 Kms from Madikeri bus station. From there, getting a jeep to the resort is not an issue at all. If you are planning for sightseeing, then Club Mahindra has coaches daily for sightseeing. You can utilise that. Otherwise, I suggest you take the phone number of a local taxi driver and call him for your sightseeing trips.

Journey from Bangalore to Madikeri would take maximum 6 hours by Volvo. You can book tickets online at http://ksrtc.in/.

Having a taxi at your disposal for all days of your trip would turn out to be expensive.

It is better to take a volvo and go to coorg. This is beacuse the travel agents will charge you for return from Coorg - not only drop. If that is okay you could take a taxi and go.

The resort also has its sightseeing trips and they are well arranged. So you will not need the taxi with you all the time.

The drive from Bangalore to coorg is about 6-7 hours.

Hi kashyap,
You can travel from Bangalore to Madikeri by Karnataka State Transport "AIRAWAT" Bus, which is a Volvo AC bus running 3 times a day and is a the best option if you are travelling ina group of 2 to 3 persons. I think you can book the tickets through internet also.
From Madikeri you can always hire an Auto as I has replied earlier on.
