Beach Resort or House Boat

Going to Alappuzha next month. Want to know if its good staying in a beach resort or a house boat. As the destination has both its confusing on which to pick on. So please help me on where to stay. A beach resort or a house boat.

You should choose only House Boat as it can be an experience you will love to have again and again. The view, the nature, its the experience of f lifetime. I had been to both and I must say there is no comparison of House Boat with any beach .

Most people especially who are vising Alappuzha for the first time are confused about whether to stay at Beach resort, backwater resort or house boat. House boat is tempting but its not something which I would advise. You can have a boat ride of couple of hours (Rs. 2000) instead of staying in a boat house (Rs. 12000). Beach resort is far from the city and not worth staying. I would prefer to stay at Backwater Resort of Club Mahindra and such other . Ofcourse they are not cheap but they are worth spending money upon. Have a nice trip.. Enjoy!

Frankly speaking, it depends upon your budget. Houseboats come with a minimum average tariff between INR. 6000-8000 for 1N on twin sharing basis (AP) i,e., accomodation+3 major meals.

Hotel accomodations, on the other hand, are much reasonable. If pocket permits you, you can spend 1N at the houseboat for the experience and the remaining day (if any) at .

Hii,

We would strongly recommend to go for backwater homestay,resort or a houseboat not the beach .Why bz the kerala backwaters especially in kumarakom and alleppey is unique destination in kerala tourism.This backwaters you can cover up only here nothing else in the world.The national geography has selected kumarakom backwaters in world top 10 destination .The beaches you can cover up in any destination in India.Especially you can find our better beaches than alleppey in varkala or cherai.So depends upon your budget you can choose alleppey/kumarakom homestay,resort or a kerala houseboat.

I feel Allappey is more famous worldwide for it's backwaters than beaches.One Night is sufficient for House Boat. other days you have to choose wether to stay in resort on backwater OR on beach.Infact Allappey / Kumarkom is quite famous for it's home stays on backwaters. you can check out Kodianthara / Kaits home or visit Mahindrahomestays for more such home stays.

Hi
Focus on season and .In April and May there is too hot and humid atmosphere there.
In house boat they are stop cruising after 5.00 P.M. and A/C in houseboat ' s bed room not available before 9.000P.M.
Think about your position ,You cannot go in side of bedroom and cannot remain out side of bedroom because of too hot .
It is better way to book house boat for a Day trip 12 to 5 P.M,than spend evening moments on your resort/home stay.
