Dear Friends, I need to know about the places of interest in and around Chandipur, Orissa. Is Simlipal Reserve Forest out of reach of visitors now owing to insurgency factors? What about visiting the Nilgiri Hills, Remuna and Panchalingeshwar? Thanks in anticipation.

hi,
chandipur is a beautiful place....perfect for a long week end..........please go in full moon.......the sea beach in evening is awesome...........stay in otdc hotel......its just on beach.there is conducted tour by otdc to visit panchalingeswar.......there is one old palace in nilgiri too.but i suggest you stay one night in hotel panthaniwas in panchalingeswar,specially if you are in a group.one temple is there......sakshi gopal......its good.simlipal is now closed for tourists.

There are many places to visit in and around chandipur. You can visit Panchlingeshwar (return by afternoon), Nilagiri Jagannath Temple, Buribala river, Simlipal Lake and Remuna.

If u r looking for sea-bathing...well Chandipur is not a place for that...one night stay is enough of that place...it would be better to go during a fool moon...in early morning a long walk to the mohana of Buri Balam river through the beach is a great idea...to stay at OTDC is good but to stay at the
Forest Bunglow (right in front of Panthanivas) is even better...it has two luxurious suits at very low rent and moreover it has got a wooden deck stretched over the beach...sitting there at night is an awesome feeling... u must stay one night at the OTDC Panthanivas at Panchalingeswar...the location is superb...u can take a jungle safari to Cooldiha forest from there!

Dear All, Thanks a lot. All the posts submitted are quite informative. I am going on a leisure trip to Chandipur with my family early June and have planned to spend 3 Nights there to enjoy the beauty of the high and low tide and the places of interest as suggested by you all. Regards,
