I am planning below tour

day1 (10/02/2012 Friday)
Leaving from Mumbai, COIMBATORE EXP (11013) LTT to CBE. Departure 22:55. Night in Train

day2 (11/02/2012 Saturday)
Train Journey continues ... Night in Train

day3 (12/02/2012 Sunday)
Reach 06:30 at CBE. Proceed to G. M. VYAS ATITHI GRIHA (tentatively booked) for one night stay. Get fresh and do breakfast and day is free for sightseeing (please suggest???) Night at coimbatore.

day4 (13/02/2012 Monday)
Check out the hotel early morning to board... 12671 NILAGIRI EXP from CBE to MTP (METUPALAIYAM)... departure 04:50 and will reach MTP
At 06:15. I may drop this train journey or go for Taxi option to save some time and have more sleep. Sue site suggested INR 600 fare from CBE to MTP. It seems 40 KMs of distance... online car rental portal gave estimation of INR 1000. (Please suggest????)

Take Train from MTP 56136 (MTP UAM PASSR) dept. 07:10 and Arrival. 12:00. Reach Oozy.

Proceed to Darshan Hotel http://www.darshanhotels.com/ (not booked yet just shortlisted, (please suggest???).
After lunch visit Botanical Garden. Night at Ooty

day5 (14/02/2012 Tuesday)
Start valentine day with fresh Ooty Tea and Lake View breakfast on Darshan Hotel restaurant. After breakfast visit to Doddapetta Peak, highest peak in south India (8642 ft.), Tea Museum, Tea Factory and Centenary Rose Garden to explore the largest collections of Roses in India. Have Lunch, rest and in the evening visit lake for Boating etc. Night at Ooty.

day6 (15/02/2012 Wednesday)

Do final shopping and remaining sightseeing , check out hotel and proceed to UAM railway station to board 56137 (UAM MTP PASSR) from UAM 14:00 to Coonoor (ONR) 15:05. Reach Coonoor.

Go to Hotel Vivek http://www.hotelvivek.com/. (Not booked yet just shortlisted, (please suggest???).

Spend evening in nearby sightseeing. Night at Coonoor.

day7 (16/02/2012 Thursday)

After breakfast sightseeing of Coonoor which includes Sims Park and Madras Regimental Centre (Please suggest more????) Night at Coonoor.

day8 (17/02/2012 Friday)
Do some shopping and remaining sightseeing. Check out the hotel and go to ONR Railway station to take 56137 (UAM MTP PASSR) from ONR 15:15 to MTP 17:35

Take a Taxi or Cab to reach SHORANUR JN from MTP. Around 160 KM (4 Hours) (Please suggest????)
Reach SHORANUR JN and take train 12431 (RAJDHANI EXP ) from SRR to BSR ( Vasai Road , Mumbai) . Night in Train . Dept. 00:40 (18/02/2012 Saturday , day changed) to BSR 19:30.

This is my complete Travel Plan . I am going with my wife and 4 yrs daughter. I do not want much road travel and need time so can rest and see things properly and enjoy holiday.

Hi Pragnesh,

Sorry for replying late.

Your itinerary seems pretty good and well planned. Regarding Coimbatore sight seeing. I would like to say that there are quite a lot of sight seeing options so select according to your preferance of places. If you want to visit temples then you can visit Marudamalai Temple, though i would strongly recommend you to visit there. There is Dhyanalinga Temple but its arnd 29 kms from the city thus that would again include a lot of travelling so you can avoid that, though if you want t visit there, You can. There is a wild life sanctuary which your daughter might enjoy. Kovai Kuttralam is a waterfall whch is another very good destination. Thus, there are quite a few options. You can select one or two sight seeing options. That would not be very tiring m sure.

With regards to your query about selecting a taxi over train. I think that would be a sensible thing to do. Though i am not very sure about the costings. still you can just verify and cross check with different rental portals and then decide.

With your coonoor sight seeing selections you can include Dolphin's nose and Catherine falls in your list. they are quite a travellers favourite.

Eith reagrds to the hotels you selected.You can browse in through holidayiq itself and read the reviews. I am sure it will help you .
