Hi
You can visit these three places near to SATARA:
Panchgani :
Panchgani is a idyllic mountain retreat in the Krishna Valley, tucked away in the Satara district of Maharashtra. Panchgani is well known hill station of maharashtra on the highway to Mahabalshwar from pune.18-km approach to the Panchgani is breathtaking, offering heart-stopping views of the River Krishna on one side and the coastal plains on the other. It is far from the noise of Pune and the endless hustle-bustle and pollution of Mumbai metropolis.
Chapai :
Shri Ramdas Swami built a temple dedicated to Shri Rama, he also constructed two Maruti mandirs at chapal. He found the idol of Shri Rama placed in the temple in the river Angapur. You can also visit beautiful memorial, which was built to perpetuate the memory of his first meeting with Shri Shivaji Maharaj.
Thosegarh :
Thosegarh is famous for its waterfalls, its makes an ideal picnic spot, for the adventurous. the people visiting here walk down the slippery falls, and have a good time with the splashing waters.
Among them Panchgani is my fav.
Regards,
Ravin

Hi Jennifer,
I must say that u you must have seen almost all of the places that my friends have suggested to you but I can suggest you a very new place and I am very sure that none of them might not have even heard about it also as it is a very new and undisclosed location near Pune. This beautiful and scenic spot is MAANSAROVAR hill station which is a private one with no access to any outsiders except by advance .It is situated at an altitude of 4000 feet above sea level with outstanding views of valleys and backwaters of Bhaatghar dam backwaters. There is a single resort called Manntra Inn which offers the same views. It has all facilities like swimming pool, water park,a mini theatre, horse riding, camel rides etc..They have a big restaurant and the food is very tasty with not a single complaint from any customers. you can email me at [Moderator-This email id is hidden. If you wish I can send you some of the resorts photos also.My personal suggestion is that everyone should visit this place at least once.
Thanks,
Parag.
