Poovar Ashtumudi Tour Query

Hi

I am planning for poovar-ashtumudi tour via Club Mahindra , i m from north india , i m having 6 nights and 7 days and i m planning for 3 nights at poovar and 3 nights at ashtumudi. Would you please suggest me in this regard ; what are the happening places to visit in these two area , how i plan myself means whether i will go 1st to poovar or to ashtumudi ??? which are the most popular beaches , backwater , scenetic locations , wild life sanctuary or other places to visit.

you can got to poovar first as it is better accessible by train/ air. Poovar is a chill out location, so if you're planning to sight see and look for activities etc poovar is not the right place. Its a serene, quiet getaway.
The other places that you can consider are Kovalam, Varkala beaches. Kovalam is very close by from Poovar about 20km at max

hi im no tour operator but a recent traveller to poovar,, actually u need to go to trivandrum and then to poovar while coming from trivandrum to poovar u need to cross kovalam its a nice place too.. poovar is an estuary in sense there the river, lake meet to the sea. we had been in estuary island resort its a wonderful one.... well asthtumudi i donno but poovar is accessible from trivandrum and one more i can say from poovar kanyakumari is pretty near sun rise and sun set are good over there... poovar and kovalam are jus to enjoy lazy holidays not much for sight seeing etc... happy travelling in kerala...bye ....VINAY

Thanks for your replies but i have some more query

I will come to two place poovar and ashtumudi via flight , so i want to plan accordingly for 6days and 7 nights , so where i would go 1st : to poovar or ashtumudi ??? what are the place i move from poovar and ashtumudi becouse i will stay 3-3 dayz at both location .. i am thinking of kanyakumari , kovlam beach etc places to go.. what u suggest ?? and what abt the local convenyence facilities???

Hi,

Poovar is a beautiful place where land, back waters and sea meet. It is place where you can have long walks on the beach or have boat trips in back waters. You can go to Kovlam if you want to go into the sea or sea sports (weather permitting). Poovar beach is not safe for swimming.

From Poovar you can visit Trivandrum and kanyakumari.

Ashtamudi is complete Back waters. Enjoy boat rides; the sound of water at night is really calming to the nerves. You can visit places like Thangasseri (for Light House), Mayyand (for Temples) and Sasthamkotta from Kollam.

Negotiate well with Taxi people and enjoy local food in small roadside eateries.
