Honeymoon - Only Havelock or Havelock + Port Blair

Hi Guys,

Need help on deciding for our honeymoon in October should we plan for complete 1 week stay at Havelock only or standard packages offered for Andaman ( 2 day Port blair, 1 day three islands +2 Day havelock+ 1day other sights)?. We do not want to plan it as a hectic sightseeing trip but a memorable experience which we can enjoy with leisure. Though Havelock is by far the best Andaman has ,still we would not want to miss on other beauties of Andaman . Needs sugeestion..

You should plan both Port Blair & Havelock island. There is nothing much that you can spend more than 2 or 3 days in Havelock.

Havelock is fun for a max of 2 day.you shloud choose havelock+3 Island +portblair.
As 3 island are to and fro from port blair and need not required overnite stay.Just 30min ride from port blair

I would plan a customised package between the 2 extremes offered: 1 week on Havelock with nothing elsewhere may be too much while just 2 days on Havelock with 5 days elsewhere is too little. 4 full days in Havelock would be good to cover local sightseeing, snorkelling etc & still have enough opportunities for leisurely walks on lovely secluded beaches at sunrise & sunset & in fullmoonlight if your timing is right. Remaining 2+ days is enough for whatever Port Blair & surroundings have to offer. Don't be part of the honeymoon rush : do your own thing, have fun & a memorable honeymoon!

You will be flying int & out of Andaman through Port Blair, there is nothing much to see in Port Blair - half or one day sightseeing should suffice. Would agree on the previous post - spend most of your time in Havelock, where you stay & spend your time is also critical in - best place I would suggest is Barefoot - its expensive but worth it and spend most of your time on Radhanagar Beach - its one of the best beaches in Asia. Other places in Havelock are crowded and with rowdy crowds, but in and around Barefoot on Radhanagar beach its beautiful - secluded with very few people mostly foreigners.

hi..

i had been to Havelock island just recently Dec'11 for my honeymoon. Believe me just spend all days in Havelock.. its a beautiful island...day starts early there arnd 4.30 am and ends by 4 .30 pm. so have good fun in Havelock. Portblair has nothing to see.. if u have enuf time you can go to other island like Neil island, Baratang. But am sure u will jst enjoy the calm n composed life in Havelock. Its an ideal destination for honeymooners.... All d best.. Have fun..

Yes my advice is to book a beach accommodation in a good resort and spend the entire time leisurely in Havelock. Since you will have to go via Port Blair, you might spend one day there and at least visit the Cellular Jail.
