KINNAUR KAILASH TOUR IN OCTOBER 2012

Hi,

I am planning to visit himachal in October 2012 during Puja. I like to visit kinnaur kailash including shimla, kulu, manali and other surrounding places. Could you please guide me how I arrange my tour and what should be my budget. The number of days at my hand is 12 to 14. I am planning to book a car from Shimla for the above tour. Pls let me know how many person can travel in one car is there any rules of himachal? and the car rent also for the tour. Also pls suggest the budget accomodation facility at the places of stay during the said tour.

Dear Dibyendu,
Kinnaur is a district in Himachal & Kinner Kailash is a mountain range of the region. In Kinnaur district there are three parts - 1) The Sangla Valley - comprising of Sangla & Chitkul (both very picturesque places); 2) Kalpa - district hq. of Kinnuar District which offers mesmerizing views of Kinner Kailash range & 3) Hangrang valley - comprising of eight villages of which the biggest one is Nako and is also a very picturesque destination.
You can hire a small car like Indica etc. which will all four occupants plus driver and there are other bigger vehicles, which you can hire according to your requirement. The cost would be upward of Rs.1800/- per day for small vehicles.
As per your tour program, you can follow this -
day 1 - Shimla to Narkanda
day 2 - Narkanda to Sarahan
day 3&4 - Sarahan to Sangla (stay for two nights - visit Chitkul & explore around)
day 5 - Sangla to Kalpa
day 6 - Kalpa to Nako
day 7 - Nako to Kaza via Gue (living mummy village)
day 8 - Kaza to Kye monastery and around back to Kaza
day 9 - Kaza to Pin Valley & back
day 10 - Kaza to Manali
Remaining days you can spend at Manali and come down to Chandigarh/Kalka to take train back to Kolkata.

Dear Mr.Roy,

Thanks for your response. As per the schedule given by you we should be starting from Shimla and after visiting Kinnaur the last destination is manali. You suggested 2 night stay at Sangla, 3 night stay at Kaza and in all other places one night stay. I would like to know the actual time that will take in visiting each places. Also let me know whether we can visit Reckong Peo or not.

Dear Dibyendu

Happy to know of your planned visit to kinnaur and the detailed suggestion from Mr Biswas. I feel visit beyond Kaza to reach Manali via Rotang Pass during end october/early November(Puja time) is little bit risky as sometimes these roads get blocked for days due to snow.
I suggest you limit your trip upto Kalpa ,which means your night stays can be:

Shimla -2night (at least) one night while going and one night during return
sarahan - 1night(Try to stay at himachal tourism for beautiful view)
sangla- 2nights (one day for chitkul visit)
kalpa- 2 night (at least) For enjoying the mountain view allowing for bad weather and visiting Rekong peo( which is new district headquarter and only about 10 km on way to kalpa from sangla)
narkanda- 1night (while returning)

If you have additional days in hand after calculating your journey time upto and from shimla, you may go towards kaza and return.
For staying, cheap accommodation are available everywhere but you should try for Himachal tourism accommodation if possible, for reliability and best location. At sangla there is no accommodation from himachal tourism and I can recommend Mount Kailash GH new block.

Dear Mr. Asis,

Many many thnx for your reply and suggestions. Pls do me a favour by letting me know the actual tour programme which I can make starting from Shimla and coming back to Chandigarh or Shimla which ever will be convenient as to time and money. I planned to start from Howrah on 30th Oct'12 and will reach Shimla on 01st Nov'12 and i have planned to come back home on 13th Nov i.e. on Kali Puja. Is it possible for me to complete the full tour as per my schedule. Also I would be grateful if you can help me out regarding the approx time each journey will take every day.

i am planning to go in novamber at shimla,manali dharmshala delhousi & Amritsar but want to go also in kinnur kailash or nearest place please guide how i planned whole trip?
