Hi, i am planning a trip to manali from 29th for 3 night stay. I will reach there from palampur. pl help me in planning the two full days and one half there. Is it worth going to Rohtang at this time?
from manali i will go to shimla and from there to delhi,i wd like to stay at shimla for one night. What can be covered while going from manali to shimla.
I hv my own scorpio ,can i cover local sights with my own vehicle

Hi,

Rohtang is the most beautiful place in manali. I suggest you to visit Rohtang during this season. 1 & half day in Manalis is worth.

I never been shimla. Hence i can't advise much on this.

Manali on around 29th would be good. I had been there last year on around samedate. Rohtang is worth visiting. You can skiing out there. You can get a guide to Rohtang. (But make sure you bargain). Infact in Manali i hav enjoyed only Rohtang and BEAS river. On your way from Manali to Shimla you can opt for River Rafting as well. Have a happy holiday

Well it is gud that you have chosen 3 nights stay at manali.Hope you will drive down from palampur in the morning to Manali & reach early evening . Next day early morning for Rohtang Pass , if roads are open you may reach at the top point or else you may be allowed to drive upto marhi or nehru kund because of heavy snow. in the evening you can do some local sightseeing near manali town. Next day go to Solang Valley & in the afternoon again visit some near by tourist attractions. On next day early morning start your journey for Shimla & on way don't miss to visit manikaran sahib & Shiv temple near Kullu .Enjoy your trip, just an advice nothing much at shimla to enjoy after visiting manali.Better return to Delhi after visiting manikaran sahib & shiv temple on the 4th day.Yes you own a very good vehicle to cover this kind of treacherous journey, but it is gud experience just keep your cool while driving not to behave likea typical delhities while driving, I have been there 4 times but still not satisified. Take care

Hi ,

One day early morning ( 4.30 / 5.00 a.m ) for Rohtang Pass , if roads are open you may reach at the top point or else you may be allowed to drive upto Marhi or Nehru kund because of bad roads . If you can't reach at the top , go to Solang Valley while returning to Manali ( Its on the way from Rohtangpass to Manali ) . Please keep woolen cloths & rubber shoes in your vehicle so that you don't have to hire .
One half day , you keep for local sight seeing .
While returning , you may visit manikaran . Manali to Manikaran ( 85 kms. ) ( At 1737 m, on the right bank of river Parvati. this place is famous for hot sulphur springs revered by both Hindus and Sikhs pilgrims. Thousand, of pilgrims take dip in holy water. The water of the spring is also said to have curative value which cures many skin diseases. According to an ancient saying Manikaran is also connected with Lord Shiva and His divine concert Parvati. ) via KASOL (40 kms) : An open glade by the banks of the river Parvati on way to Manikaran.
