Travel to Mukteswar Q&A

Hi !!

I intend to travel to Mukteswar from Bareilly with my family during the second week of March, 2009. Can anyone please tell me what is the exact distance and how much time will it take to reach there? It will also be of immense help to me if i get to know the route to be taken and the approximate amount to be paid for a big car( Sumo, Bolero, Tavera, Qualis or Scorpio) for this journey.

I have no idea about a journay and distance from bareilly.But from delhi best mode of transpotation is Ranikhet Express,none other then sumo and qualis.

But i can suggest u the palce to accomodate there is The Shree Hari resort.That's all i can help u.

breilly to kathgodam then to bhowali and on to mukteshwar via ramgarh. stau at GMVN its the only property inside the town all others are outside.

AS PER YOUR QUERY, IT WOULD TAKE AROUND 4-1/2 HRS TO 5 HRS FROM BAREILLY TO MUKTESHWAR. THE ROUTE TO BE TAKEN IS BAREILLY - HALDWANI - KATHGODAM - BHIMTAL - PADAMPURI - MUKTESHWAR.

REGARDING TRANSPORT YOU WILL HAVE TO ARRANGE FROM YOUR END, I DO NOT HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT THE SAME.

You already have many replies by now. Best would be to visit http://www.mapmyindia.com or http://www.roadsofindia.com & know the route as well as distance. Mukhteshwar by Qualis took us about 8 hrs from Delhi as the road is quite steep in the later part of journey & we went stopping on the way. It would take less for you from bareilly, but depends how much do you stop. If you enjoy travelling by Road, best way is to go by road as you are master of the vehicle & can stop anywhere you wish. The price of hiring bigger vehicles vary drastically in different cities & at different times. They normally charge around Rs10/- per km but min. for 200-250km per day. Note that in initial hills, you sometimes need an AC, but these people switch them off as there is higher load on engine. Pls clarify this point initially as you may not need A/c after climbing up for about 1 hour, but before that it gets painful if its hot. Be careful of staying at Mountain trail, The resort type layout gets attractive but they are very smart & if you are a freequent traveller, you will know they are poor in service & overcharge. would you like to wait for food at the time of buffet & later fed of waiting will get up half filled stomach? There are other hotels nearby like Krisha, appears to be better.
