Mumbai to Malvan via NH4

Hello, Please guide me the road route from Mumbai to Malvan via expressway ( Mumbai-Pune-Satara-Kolhapur...Malvan). If you could guide me with the time taken, good stops to halt etc, it would be great.Thanks.

Hi Manoj,
Why on earth do you want to take the longer & costlier route to Malvan via NH-4. The route via NH-17 (Mumbai-Goa highway) is shorter and scenic as compared to NH-4. Any way the route via NH-4 is Mumbai-Pune(by pass)-Satara-Kolhapur-Phonda Ghat-Kankavli-Kasal-Malvan (600 kms Approx). The route via NH-17 is Mumbai-Panvel via old Mumbai-pune highway. After Panvel turn off to Mumbai-Goa highway thru Karnala-Pen-Wadhal-Nagathone-Kolad-Mahad-Khed-Chiplun-Sangmeshwar-Rajapur-Kankavli-Kasal. After Kasal turn right for malvan. This route is only 512 kms. Watch out for the left turn at Wadhal Naka. You can halt at Vithal Kamats at Mahad on your left for breakfast and drive inn restaurant on your right 10 kms before Sangmeshwar. The route is scenic after Mahad with numerous ghat sections. Time taken should be around 10-11 hours with the two halts.
