Madikeri can be visited around the year. However, it would best if you can make it during oct - Feb. Do not travel in Jun - Aug period as it will be pouring in style.

Mysore to Madikeri will take you about 4 - 6 hours depending upon the type of transportation that you take. There are plenty of buses and you dont have to worry about it. Take KSRTC as it is comfortable and safe.

You will need 3 days max in Mysore and 2 days in coorg.
