Hi,

I'm planning to visit Lansdowne and want to know thw modes of transportation from delhi and is it easy to get taxi from kotdwar to lansdowne.

Also, what are the good options of staying in lansdowne.

Gaurav,
Landsdown is beautiful. You can go by an overnight train to Kotdwar, which is 41 km drive by taxi from Lansdowne. Taxis and buses are easily available. The drive from Delhi via Meerut, Bijnor is also very pleasant.

Accomodation to suit all budgets is available- but if you are from the army- the Garwhal Rifle Centre Mess is very good.

another option would be to take the Delhi - Kotdwar bus which is run by UPSRTC and starts from ISBT. They would have a frequency of atleast 2-3 runs a day.

From Kotdwar, you can easily get taxi or other modes of transport (shared taxi, bus) to Lansdowne.

There are limited staying options and Ranee has already provided you the names. Please ensure that you book in advance and travel only after a confirmed .

Dear Gaurav,

The means of transport will actually depend on people you are taking along with you.In case you are travelling with family , don't travel by bus (atleast in the night).There are no luxuary buses from delhi to kotdwar and the journey is quite bumpy and uncomfortable.Try Mussorie express, it reaches at 6-6.30 am at kotdwar and a taxi takes 450-500 Rs for a trip to Lancedown.

Try staying at Fairy Dale.But Make necessary arrangements in Adv.You can have a word with Mr.Ashok , who is the caretaker of the place.
