It totally depends on the length of your visit. Abbey falls is closer to Madikkeri while Irupu falls is closer to Kutta.

I wouldnt suggest a total Coorg trip unless you had an own vehicle and plan to travel a lot of places.

Nagarhole - a wildlife sanctuary is close to Irupu falls in case you plan to go there. Plan to go early if you do go there. Its open in the mornings bet 7-9 and 3-5 Pm in evenings. You have wildlife safari rides there. You also have the Wayanad-Begur Wildlife sanctuary (Kerala border) which is close by from Kutta.

You also have Kushal Nagar (famous for Tibetan settlement / monastery) close by. You have Nalnad palace / Kakkabe too close by. Choose the best places keeping in mind all your trip needs / interests.

Thanks Vijay ..
I am confused which places to visit, since I am completely unaware of the distance etc. We have hired a private vehicle. If we are staying at Madikeri, which places should be cover on the route from Bangalore?
How far is the Nagarhole
Park, Irupu Falls from Madikeri ? Would it be worth going to Irupu, since its summer season ?

I plan to visit Dubare Elephant Camp on the last day while coming back..

hi you can plan something like this . Day 1 - Start at the south most piece - Nagar Hole - Wild life sanctuary; and Irruppu falls. Day 2 - Madikeri ( there are about 4 or 5 places of interest like the fort, Raja Seat) and talakaveri;Day 3 - Dubbare Elephant Camp and Golden Temple. Of course you can choose to stay in one of the home stays or hotels in Madikeri.

Since both Vijay and V have given reply, I will not go through the same details. I also presume that you have completed your trip by now. Do share your experience.

I am back from the Coorg trip :)
Some bits from the travel -- we started at 6 am, first destination - Ranganatithu Bird Sanctuary and later Nagarhole National Park and Irupu falls. Both of which were waste of time. I would recommend skipping them completely, wasted time ( around 2 hrs to reach Madikeri ) Reached the Hotel Hilltown at 8 pm. Next day , Nisargdhama and Tibetian Monastery. While returning back to Bangalore, spent some time at Dubare. We missed Abbey Falls bcos of lack of energy and time :)
Nonetheless, great trip !!
