Hi,
Can anybody please help me with the details of temples in hampi. We will be staying there for 3 days. I've heard from some friends that 3 days wont be enough to cover hampi. Please let me know what the ideal period of time would be required to cover hampi.

Dear Saurabh,

3 days should be enough as we did it in 2 days(was a bit tough).
I recommend you find a guide to take you around as it is quite a walk and you don't want to miss anything.
On the second day you have to climb Mathunga hill at 5.30am to see the sunrise over hampi. You cannot miss it.
The main sites are the Virupaksha temple, the Krishna temple and market. the main market street, the Achutarya temple, the coracle boat on the Tungabhadra river, the Vitthala temple, the Royal center and the Royal Palace.
If you can try the Mango Tree for lunch.
Enjoy your trip.

Hi Saurabh,

Jerome is right as long as you stay within the main Hampi city. There is not much to cover here. So 3 days will be enough. But if you have plans to cross over the Tungabhadra River and stay on the other side, 5 or 6 days will be more like it. There is so much to see on the other side. It is not half as crowded. You find only foreigners there. Hardly any Indians. The place is cleaner. Accommodations are much better. There are a lot of places to cover here. I went there in the first week of Feb this year and we stayed there for 3 nights and it just was not enough. Anyways if you dont have plans to move across, then 3 days would be enough.

Thanks,
Savio
