Hi,
Good place for honeymoon and good luck. The Pandop dam is good for photogaraphy with a scenic reservoir. Otherwise It is long trip with nothing good till you reach Kullu. There is a good weaver and sales shop at Kullu by the roadside. You can try some wool there and take a short walk to Beas. At Manali we stayed at Hotel Kunsum (HP tourism). It is right at the mall and very clean rooms. We enjoyed their hospitality and plan to return there after i come back from south africa. Go to Rohtang Pass which is where the real Himalayas lie.

Dear Satish - Hearty congrats on your getting married. Well, someone from Chandigarh will reply to you on taxi. As regards luxurious resort, I would suggest Solang Valley Resort, which is some distance from city area and I think this should not be an issue since there is no night life in Manali and November being off season, after 7 or 8 pm., you will hardly find people on the Mall.
You may also opt for Club Mahindra but I would suggest Solang Valley Resort since you will be on honey moon.
Ok.
Best of luch and a prosperous married life.
Thanks and regards

Hi
Lovely choice for a Honeymoon Wishing u all the Best
There is no need to take a taxi from Chandigarh
I have been to Manali and let me tell you that the journey by bus from Chandigarh is about 7-8 hrs.
Take the HPRTC Volvo bus. that will mean No unscheduled stops
You DONT stay at the hotel at the bus stop where you are dropped at Manali .
We stayed in is the Snow Valley Resort - clean decent &
more luxurious U can call them up and make a booking and they will arrange to have u picked up from the bus Ph No.01899-242700/242600
Food Also is good at this hotel breakfast and dinner are in the package
food served is delicious and with much variety, , veg and non veg
stay for 5 - 6 or even 7 days in Manali
do nothing JUST RELAX that is what a vacation(Honeymoon) is for. not rushing from 1 place to another
don’t go anywhere, not even Kulu as it is just an overcrowd bazaar
in,Manali just visit the snowline [taxis will quote you upwards of rs 1500/-, but just walk along and you will get someone for about Rs 6-700/-] and enjoy a leisurely vacation doing nothing but enjoying the pristine clean air and the cold weather. Due to off season, you will get everything at rock bottom prices. Do not stay at the big name resorts as you will be far away from the main bazaar where you can enjoy the local flavor
have a happy holiday
I am planning to visit Dalhousie and Chamba this last week of Dec and plan to stay in the Snow Valley Resorts Dalhouse
