Visit to Ladakh in first week of July.

Dear All,
We are 5 (3M+2F) senior citizens planning to visit Ladakh in first week of July. We will be flying to Srinagar from Mumbai. Our tentative plan is as follows;
Day 1 Fly to Srinagar
Day 2 Local sight seeing.
Day 3 To Kargil
Day 4 To Lamaryu
Day 6 To Leh.
Day 7 rest
Day 8,9, & 10 Local sight seeing/excursions.
Day 11 Fly back to mumbai.

Now we need suggestions for improvement if any in this pro gramme. Also suggestions regarding "must do",good lodging options including home stays are welcome.

Thanks in advance for good & useful inputs.

Dear Dilip,
1..Fly into Srinagar early in the morning so you can use that day for local site-seeing like the Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, Sankaracharya temple, Hazrat bal Mosque. Make sure you buy tons of walnuts/akhrots.

2.. Go for a day trip to Gulmarg.
3.. To Kargil
4.. To Leh.. If u set off at 6-7am, you can easily reach Leh by 3-4pm. So unless you wanna stay at Lamayuru, carry on to Leh. Stopover at Lamayuru and visit the monastery.
5.. Secure you Inner Line Permits from the DC office behind the Polo Ground. Go for site-seeing like Hall of Fame, Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, etc. Since you driving to Leh, you dont need to be resting for the acclimatization.
6.. around Leh
7.. Day trip to Pangong via Chang La. return to Leh.
8.. around Leh
9.. Nubra Valley via Khardung La. Overnite at Hunder.
10.. return to leh by afternoon. evening exploring the local market.
11.. back to Mumbai.

There are lots of lodging options in Ladakh suiting all budgets. You can make reservations as per your budget.

hi..
i will suggest u to attend Hemis festival in leh which will be on 10 n 11 of july. Its great n is conducted once a year. so it will be worth to extend ur trip by a day or two..

Dear Rishi,
Could you please let me know if a night halt is a good idea while doing Nubra valley or we should come back the same day.
Any suggestion for night accommodation? THANKS.
