Hi all,
Please let me know, how will be the weather of Yumthang and 0 point in last week of december. I am planning to go there. Please inform me, wether the roads will not be closed due to snow fall.

Hi Chayan

You will be happy to know that even we would be travelling to the same places in the last week of December this year!Its gonna be my in-laws,hubby and me (a group of 12)!
Yumthang would vary from a maximum of 6 degrees and a minimum of -10 degrees.Recent news is its already dipping down to -2 degrees overnight with snow flurries(snow flurries are intermittent snow drizzle which does not cover the ground in heap as opposed to snowfall but one can really enjoy the flakes and the chill).
Relax the roads will not be closed as some websites say.The best way is to read the blogs posted by travellers in Indiamike.com where u can get an account of all first hand experience.Yes there might be technical glitches with the vehicle u r travelling in but again it depends on the severity of the .
There goes a saying : If u r cut out for good thigs in life,ur destiny will splash out like a fountain even its under a stone.And yes glimpses of the Mighty Kanchenjunga and snowfall are definately one of all the good things in Life.
Can u provide me with ur exact travel dates ,so i can send u updated info.How many of u will be travelling n if there are ny children along?

Thanks a lot for your reply. I am travelling to Sikkim with a travel-group named "Chalo jaai". I am starting on 23rd dec from siliguri to pelling. 24th will be sight-seeing to pelling. On 25th i am going to gangtok. I will be @ Tsmongo on 26th. On 27th I am going to Lachung. I will be on Yumthang and zero valey on 28th. After that, I will be back. Please let me know your input on this.

I am planning a trip in north sikkim in Mid January. Is it possible to visit yunthang and nathula at that time and how will be the temperature ?
