I do not think, that it is a good time to go to Andaman, because of the possible turbulent sea. It will better if you plan your holiday in October to February. And 3 days will be too little for Andaman. Plan for seven days.

Check out for the weather for planned time of . Right now it would be very hot and humid. The sunlight is sharp and very hot weather would spoil the fun. Skin get tanned very quick there :-(

Best time would be to travel around oct to Feb

3 days would be very tight, do plan at least 5 days

In port blair:

Can go for a ferry trip which cover ross island and also one beach.
Can travel to new wandloor ( good water sport)
Few beaches are good in Port blair

No to miss is havelock Island ( a paradise)

Very nice beaches and also snorkling option in clean water. You woudl travel by a fast ferry( which is fun) and would need to stay there overnight.

Plan ahead as there are lot of things and surely you may miss few. Just plan what all u r prepared to miss :-)

Andaman Teal House which is run by tourism department is very good and rates are very competitive. If you are working in a Public Sector Bank or BSNL or any of your close relatives are working in these organizations, then you can book holiday homes at a throwaway rates. These organizations have hired hotels and allot rooms to their staff. Otherwise, if you are availing LTC, then your travel agent an give you a good offer. Please check up. Also you can try Youth Hostel.

May may not be a good month, but if you dont have a choice, then go on. Please carry SPF 60 sunscreen lotions.

Please plan for atleast 5 days, as going to Andamans is a lifetime chance.

On the day of arrival, you can visit Cellular Jail and Light and sound show. Also, an one hour trip by ferry. Second day, you can plan for a full day trip covering Ross Island, Viper Island and North Bay. 9 am to 7 pm. Ferry leaves from Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex and booking counters are available in the entrance. This trip covers one time snorkelling charges adn glass boat charges at the North Bay. Lunch with water bottle is also given. For additional chances, they charge around Rs. 100 and can be bargained.

One day can be earmarked for Radhanagar Beach at Havelock. For going to Havelock, the ferry leaves from DSS, Directorate of Shipping Services and go by luxury Cruise M. V. Markuzz. Rs. 600 per person, one way. Getting tickets in government owned ferries are very very difficult. You can plan your trip with your hotel manager and be specific about your requirements.

For local site seeing, spare a day. Go by auto as charges are fixed and very reasonable. All the places are very closeby. You can finish shopping also on that day. Genuine corals are available at Middlepoint.

Please visit Mt. Harriet and Chatham Saw Mill. Leave by 7 am and you can cover these places by 2 pm. Catch a town bus to Chatham Jetty; from Chatham Jetty, go to the other side by ferry. Rs. 2 per person. From there, jeeps are available to Mt. Harriet at a cost of Rs. 200/- Fixed charge. for to and fro with 1 hour time for site seeing. Come back and visit Chatham Saw Mill. Don't miss the Forest Museum inside. After lunch, you can go to Chidiya Tapu, if interested for watching sunset. For further details, please see my review of Dec. 2010.

Have a great holidays.
