Waynad on weekend

Hi guys

I'm from bangalore .I'm very much interested to visit wayanad.What is the ideal time to go there.IS it possible to make a trip on weekend.Please give me details on how to reach there from bangalore(bus/train).Any useful info is appreciated.

b'lore-mysore-battery-kalpetta is the route. best wud be to drive down. plenty of buses. catch a b'lore calicut bus and get down at Kalpetta. plenty of KSRTC and pvt buses.5 hrs max. u can do it over the weekend

Hi,

The road is good from mysore travel towrads the gundalpet road and there is a deviation where u have to take a left from the highway. You have to go through sultan Batteri. We took this raod, because we wanted to see the Mutanga wild life sanctuary on the way. Else there are 3 options I think:

Route A : Bangalore - Mysore - Hunsur- Nagarhole - Kutta - Mananthavadi (Wayanad)
Route B: Bangalore - Mysore - HD Kote - Bavali - Mananthavadi ( Wayanad)
Route C: Bangalore - Mysore - Gundulpet - Munthanga - Sulthan Battery ( Wayanad)

It might be raining now in Wayanad. 2 days are sufficient, if you don't plan to move around a lot, else a 3 day trip would be ideal. Don't miss something called "Kurava Island" a must place to visit.....

We stayed at annapara homestay-very good ambience, homely and neat.

If you visit indiamike dot com there is a member there PM Velu who regularly drives to Wayanad from Mysore and posts the latest updates about road condition etc. You can do a search on that site and get the details or register and join the disussions.
