Welcome to ahmedabad. Frankly Ahmedabad is not on the tourist circuit & does not have scenic locations, but yes here there are many historic places.
1) Akshardham,Gandhinagar(Beautiful Swaminarayn temple with unbelievable laser show in the evening)
2) Gandhi Ashram
3) Science city
4) If you are fond of Golf. Kensville & Gulmogor Greens Club
5) Ideal picnic spots for birdwatching: Nal Sarovar(60Km) & Thol(15km)
6) Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad(Starts at 8am from Kalupur)
7) Modhera & Ran Ki Vaav(100Km) Only Sun temple of western India.
8) Champaner/Pavagadh(Unesco World Heritage Site)
9) In the evening visit Law Garden & stroll in flea market. You can have good street side food here too.
10) If you can spare a day visit Mt. Abu(240Km)
But be prepared weather is going to be hot after a month.
Do let me know if you require any further information.

Now for the city tour. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has buses from Lal Darwaja Bus stop. There are two trips every day. I would not say it is very interesting ones but still you can take a half day trip. There are two heritage walking trips in the old cities, one by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation & other by House of MG(Opp Sidi Saiyad Jali,Lal Darwaja)
It will be too hot during this time of the year.

i visited ahmedabad in the month of january and preferred to avail public transport. there is nothing much to visit .places like sabarmati ashram, akshaydham were in my schedule. visit by public transport is fast and not uncmfortable as thought of.bus conductors informed in the right time the right spot to get down to visit my place of interest.i got the advantage of knowing names of touch down places and of bus routes also . its great to avail public transport in ahmedabad .
