Hi Joanne,
Sasan Gir is the lions national park located in the State of Gujarat in India. So the only attraction is the safari into the jungle to see lions and of course some other animals. You may have to go for more than one govt. govt. forest. govt. charge).
If you do not see the lions in the safari trip, they have an enclosed park area in which the lions are preasent. Though this area is fenced but it is large enough for keeping the lions in their natural habitat with sufficient deer etc. Again you have to govt. area. whose God Shiva temple is famous in India. You can see the vast Arabian sea.

Yup!!! There is nothing much to do in Sasan Gir except the forest safari.

But the last time I was there, they did allowed private vehicles - only petrol cars with euro III or later engines. However, it is advisable to rent those open maruti gypsy cars - better line of sight.

The enclosed park is the Devaliya Orientation Centre - some 10-12 km from Sasan Village. They take you in the 5 sq. km. fenced area in the (a.sedated/drugged). Wednesdays.maintained. cages.hotel/resort. paying.park. And gear yourself up properly during the safari mornings.trip!
