Hi,
i want to know wether we can travel chickmagalur during the month of may\june,or is it raining heavily.

May is OK. June not OK, unless u enjoy rains and stay indoors. Moreover nothing much nearby though they talk so much about Babbuda, Muliangiri and kemmanagundi. No comparison with Kodai, OOTY or even Yercaud and also Munnar, Thekkady. Please decide after taking lot of factors into consideration. May be Kalasa and Sringeri better. But all these require some special interest in enjoying a lonely time with your betterhalf and not much with Children.

Well I feel Visit to Chikmagalur in May will still trouble you with lot of heat and dust. preferable to visit in cooler times after the monsoons are over.Try out and stay at VISMAYA HOME STAY. No harm one visit is OK to chikmagalur. I agree with this statement of RAVI (But all these require some special interest in enjoying a lonely time with your better half and not much with Children.)[/u]

Hey Rajiv !!! Just Go there mate !! any time is a good time for a holiday !!! Chickmagalur is a beautiful place !! any home stay is good when there is place to stay !! The sun will always sun , the rain will always pour , the cold will always chill ... Just go ahead mate ...

hi,
Stayed at Eagle Eye resorts a while back , very nice food ,stay & service inside a cofee plantation, the flip side is that its 60km away from chickmagalur town and you are pretty much stuck there for the duration of the stay .

Like the rest of the folks mentioned , its a regular small town with not much happening. Go there just to get away from it all to chill out & de-stress.

Ps. The drive from Bangalore to chickmagalur is awesome , there may be occuational showers but its going to be warm .

Thank U for the information given,actually i am coming to Bangalore with my family(wife and two kids) during mid may to attend a marriage so i just wanted to know wether i can travel chichmagalur during that time.Pl tell me which are the budget hotles\homestay in chikmagalur.And how much time is sufficient to spend in chikmagalur.

Hi Rajiv

If you are thinking of May/June, it will start raining I guess towards end of May and make it difficult to get around...so you may want to reschedule. If you enjoy nature, large estates, sorrounding hills , its a great place...you can be at home in anyone of those homestays (very affordable to expensive like the Tippanhalli, the SERAI etc...these are slightly away from the city centre and really enjoyable). A trip down to Belur/Helibedu to see the Hoysala temples (11th century AD) can be incredible if you enjoy architecture, heritage sites. If you wish to get away from hustle & bustle , just relax , do nothing I would recomend ...
