Hello holidayiq-ers !
We plan to drive to Wayanad on 1st April 2010, from Bangalore to Wayanad, we drive a scorpio.
Would invite expert suggestions and route recommendations for this trip from the other members of this site/ forum, so we have a safe and comfortable trip.
Would invite your expert suggestions on places to see and where to stay at Wayanad.

Drive from Bangalore to Mysore. Turn right towards Calicut and drive upto Sultan Battery, where you will need directions to your . Road is excellent upto Sultan Battery.
You will need time to clear the Kerala check-post

Dear Sir,
It's better you come thru mysore.Then catch highway and proceed to Wynad(Kalpetta)via Nanjangud,Gundalpet ,Muthanga and Sultanbatteri.The road is pretty good.But you have to pass thru Karnataka Forest Check post gate at border before 9.00PM.
Bangalore-Mandya-Mysore(Bye-Pass)-Nanjangud-Gundalpet-Muthanga-Sultanbattery then to Kalpetta.
The distance is between 275-280km and may take around 6 hrs if you do maintain a steady speed
