How to reach kodaikanal from coimbatore

hi mates

i am reaching coimbatore around 8.30pm i have to go to kodaikanal

what is the best travel option?

any private/govt buses running directly to kodai....

if govt buses which bus stand i have to go? is it gandipuram?

can any one give bus timings............

also i need any contact numbers of travels agents/drivers that you have good exprience

pls reply urgently i am travelling in two days

there are trains from coimbatore to kodai road. check makemytrip website to book your tickets. The toy train has very scenic . you will enjoy that.

Bus : Best option will be to take a bus to Dindugul (from Singanallur Busstand). Bus services will be available from dindigul. However the closest route is via Palani, but not sure whether Palani-Kodai bus service is available

Train : Nearest railway station from Kodaikanal is Kodai road. However only one Coimbatore-Nagercoil passenger train stops there. Also you may need to take a cab from Kodai road to reach Kodaikanal

Cab : Best route will be Pollachi-Udumalpet-Palani-Kodai

Thank you kiran & praveen for the replies....btw correct the time of my arrival as 8.30 a.m

I knew thr were several bus stands in coimbatore, from which bus stand does the bus starts exactly? and wht would be the frequency of buses from coimbatore to palani.

appreciate if some one from coimbatore can tell me the bus schedules, and how much does auto wala charge from railway station to that bus stand

I think it is better to go via Dindigul, the route via Palani is quite narrow, though it is longer, I travelled from Kodai top Coimbatore once by cab it was a bit strenuous.

The best option is to take a train to Madurai, and then catch a bus from Madurai to Kodai. There are buses from Madurai to Kodai every hour during day time, but I doubt you can get a bus at such a late hour.
