Planning to Coorg with my wife

I am planning to take my wife to coorg. When is the best time to visit coorg? We want to have a nice lovely holiday there. Its been 6 months since we went on a holiday so want to go and have a lovely time now. Also please tell me about the Club Mahindra over there. I want to stay there for a week so let me know of the cost of it for a week and how is the property. What all facilities are there in the resort?

Hi, I dont think this is a nice time to visit Coorg because the climate is too hot, try to stay in a homestay which Coorg is known for ,you can find good locations for homestay in coffee estates in Murnard also. There is less water in Abbey falls, site seeing wise ok, but u may not get feeling of hillstation

I agree with Bhaskar wrt .
I stayed at Amanvana . The Property is very good and and enjoyed there a lot. you can directly contact at the reception and get better pkg.

I suggest you go to Southern Coorg towards Wynad. Some good estate homestays are available at Kutta. As these abut the dense foliage of the Nagarhole forests, the climate is more pleasant. Alternatively you could visit the Wythiri Resorts at Wynad....tree houses....great view!

You may visit Coorg at anytime. In the rainy season you can enjoy the downpour and the greenery. In the summer you can escape from the heat from your place. Club Mahindra is the best place , your money's worth, but you should not mind the cost, if you want the luxury. There are many homestays and hotels , at reasonable price which can be booked online also. Near the busy town center of Mercara in Coorg, around bus stand there are plenty of Restaurants . both Veg and Non Veg, and also many spices shops where you can buy all sorts of Dry fruits , Nuts, Coffee etc. Most of them are genuine but better to visit few shops and compare the prices. If you are interested , I will let you know the name of the shop where I bought my requirements after comparison of the price and quality.

i had visited in dec 2012. nice place to chill out. heritage resort and club mahindra are just adjacent to each other. both are excellent and ideal time is nov-dec but in case hv to visit waterfalls then u hv to go during rainy season otherwise winter is right.heritage resort has individual cottages with good food.

Coorg is a lovely romantic Place to go as a couple, Club Mahindra Coorg is one among our favourites.
Club Mahindra is Best for your stay, what ever the Facility u need, name it... its available in club mahindra, It is one of the few hotels where u get good food in coorg. its costs around 10K per day for stay and additionally for food.
You can also stay in Homestays for which coorg is famous for.... we once stayed in "Honey pot homes" in sandalcad estate. Food is of good quality, home prepared Non-veg food. Veg is not commentable.
For sight seeing - abbey falls, estate walks, buddist monastry, dubare elephant camps, tala-cauvery, raja seat, etc.
The best peiod to vist coorg is Oct to January. by now it would be little warm... Rainy season is also good. but the best is winter. Eventhough we had gone in December 1st week, the noon time was little warm... Winter evenings are awesome.... Monsoon time is best....
