How to reach Kabini Jungle resort via Manglore station.

Hi Sudhir,

There are three ways of reaching Kabini via Manglore ( Approx. 280 km.)

1. Manglore - Hasan - Mysore - Gundlupet - Kabini
2. Manglore - Madikeri - Mysore - Gundlupet - Kabini
3. Manglore - Kannur/Kozikode - Sultan Battery - Kabini

As you have not mentioned if you will be travelling in your own car or by local bus or by train, I am unable to provide further details. Roads in Karnataka are very bad specially between Manglore - Madikeri - Mysore.

I will be reaching Manglore station at 6,00am & want to proceed to Coorg/Kabini.

Are there private taxis available? What is the frequency for the state buses?

Any idea wheather Coorg is better or Kabini ?

Im sure your hotel/lodge/resort will be send you a pick up from Mysore station. If not, they would be the best people to ask.

go to kabini only if you are interested in wildlife and get a feel of rural karnataka bordering the forest. Coorg is much greener,lower temperatures and better options for siteseing and leisure.

can we go to coorg and Kabini frm manglore n back.. will the drive too tedious? is the jungle resort open in july in the rains? is it worth going in July?
