i would like to ask something about Khandala. All say that its a wonderful place.. but i wanna discover Khandala in a different way and check out those places of which people are not aware of.
Do let me know some good adventureus areas in Khandala.
For details on Khandala sightseeing check-out: http://www.holidayiq.com/destinations/K ... -Know.html Out of all the places mentioned there, Rajmachi park is the most adventurous and the walk to it is lovely. Once you are there the views are simply fantastic.
You could plan out a really adventurous Fort Expedition - and trek to all the historic Maratha forts in the area one-by-one: Lohagad, is the most famous one. From Malavli station a 3 km walk or auto ride to Bhaja village, will take you to the fort gates - then you have to trek to the top. From here you can see the scenic Pawna Lake.
Opposite Lohagad is Visapur Fort - a trek to the top rewards you with great views and many old water tanks and ponds, as well as the ruins of the Maratha chieftan's residence. Tikona Fort is to the left of Lohagad - at the top are some ancient Buddhist caves and water tanks. Tung Fort is another fort further away - you can see its reflection in the waters of Pawna Lake if you are lucky.
For more ideas do a Google Book search on "Off-beat tracks of MAharashtra" by Milind Gunaji - it gives you some really off-beat ideas.
Not too adventurous... but Karla Caves are worth a watch for history lovers. Few of the best preserved caves of Buddhist era. Though not as ornate as Ajanta, yet they have uniquely preserved woodwork.
