as we are going to visit coorg for 2 days and have full week so can anyone suggest whr we can travel from coorg except mysore and banglore..

need wild and nature loving destination... not crowded only

pls inform if any one knw

COORG is the district ....

How many days u r planning ?? There are very good places around the district...

If u r interested in trekking spend a day there in Iruppu Falls guides are available for u r trekking (be prepared).

Madikere is the central town of the district.

If u wanna move places then u should stay ther... if u wanna take rest then go for a Forest Resort... they are awsome ...

Roads will be bad... so be care full...

go around Nagarole, if pos go to Kerela its the border....

hi u can consider goin to kabini, its a wild life sanctuary
or wayanad, this has beautiful nature resorts. Both these places are
about 4 hrs from coorg if I am not mistaken.

treeking cant go for as have small kid...with me...

so pls inform if any other nice district so can take a car from mysore itself and visit all the place

Dear Sachin:

Since you are planning to go to coorg and would like to stay there for 2-full days, you can also plan to go Ooty which is nearby (3-4 hours drive) amd stay there for 2 full days and if you still want to enoy you can plan from there to Kodaikanal, which are lovely hill stations.

Hope the above information is enough to decide.

i have been to MEDIKERI (COORG) before 1.5yrs.
i liked abby falls which is around 10km(approx) from the town
and i also liked THE TIBETIAN MONESTORY AT KHUSHALNAGAR which is around 60km.

REALLY THIS IS AN AMAZING PLACE AND ONE FEELS HEVENLY DEVINE AT THIS PLACE
THERE IS NO SUCH PLACE IN INDIA LIKE THIS.

WE ALSO WENT TO TAL KAVERI THE STARTING PLACE OF HOLY RIVER KAVERI AND THIS
PLACE HOLDS HE SAME RESPECT AND HOLYNESS IN SOUTH AS GANGORTI HOLDS IN THE NORTH.

I recommend, Vythiri at Wayanad. it is a very good location, and staying at Vythiri Resort will be an experience. there are some other resorts too in this place. All of them are equally good. Vythiri Resorts will cost around 6 k per night. this resorts is located 3-4 km inside the forest completely covered by nature. Vythiri is located around 4-5 hours road journey from Coorg. The only drawback at Coorg is the road, very bad.

You also must visit Kushalnagar at Coorg. Here is the largest Tibetan settlement in India, in and around Kushalnagar. The beautiful Namdroling Monastery with its Lamas and exotic Thangka paintings all over the place is worth the 26-27km drive from Coorg to Kushalnagar.This is also called the golden temple/pagoda where there is a 60ft high Golden plated Buddha and Padmasambava statues. On the way back from Kushalnagar, you can visit Cauvery Nisargadhama for a wonderful view(close and clear) of Mahasheer fish in the cauvery river. This is a very tiny island kind of a place, on the banks of the river connected by a dainty wooden/bamboo bridge. there are facilities to stay over here but the bookings are through the forest board. There is a deer park, lot of horse ride options, several jhulas tied on tall trees and a narrow but million dollar worth access straight to the river - you can actually view the crystal clear river in full force, cool, clean. Beautiful. I have an old number which you can try to get bookings for Nisargadhama - this through the District Forest Officer-Madikeri at 08272-228305 - the stay will be worth it. Unfortunately we didnt know, hence couldnt stay
