Darjeeling

Hi,
We are looking for good hotels in Darjeeling for our stay in Jan end.

We found Sterling Holiday Resort to be good but the bad part is, their site does not have any room pictures or anything. So we are bit confused.

2nd one we found was Viceroy, they have enough pictures of their site but no user based reviews on the net.

So in short, it will be great if someone from here can point us to the right direction.

Thanks for the reply, I had already checked the listings there, only Sterling had good amount of reviews.. (only one in 2007, rest were old) So I wanted to ask if anyone from forums went to any of these hotels.

hi,
u can look into hotel sinclairs , its a very good one. sinclairs hv a chain of hotels n good one. i hv been to their resort in doars chalsa about some 70 kms from darjeeling. its one of t most wonderful resort i hd been. suggest u 2 nights there also. u can visit their website also via google search.
second at darjeeling is hotel mayfair hill resort. also a nice one.
plus i suggest if u cant zero in at anyone, u can go there only and look one for ur needs as there wont b much crowd in jan end. but surely sinclairs at doars chalsa is my bet for u.

Hi Deep,

New Elgin has recently been revamped and it is supposed to be quite good. Check it out. In the upper bracket, Glenburn Estate is a fantastic property and highly recommended. Another heritage property is Windermere Hotel. The former Chogyal of Sikkim met his wife (Hope Cook) at this hotel. I think you should book in advance - why take the risk?
