Hi All friends, I am in planning for visit Mahabaleshwar, I want to know for how many days should i make my plan in Mahabaleshwar and panchgani, also please say about lonawala. we are 5 couple and 4 child. Please suggest with sightseen, and how much time should be spend for every sight seen. Your answer will be appreciated.

You will need 3 days in Mahabaleshwar, 1 day in Panchagani & 2 days in Lonavala

Note that Lonavala is charming only during rainy season- july to sept. At other times,there is only echo/tiger point worth that too in the evening.This point is the highest in Lonavla and is on way to Amby valley.But during rainy season, Lonavla has lots of points-Bushy dam,Pawna,the Shivkhind, the countless waterfalls etc.
Mahableshwar is a nice hill station and Panchgani is like a sister town-just 18km away.So no need to stay there, just an excursion to three points-the table land,the parsi point and the Mapro center on the way.From Mahableshwar you can see all points in town in one day.The elephant head and Arther seat are not to be missed.Evenings are good for boating in the lake.
You require one day to visit shivaji's fort-Pratapgarh and Afjalkhan's killing spot on the way up.
Keep one day for visit to Chota kashmir-koyna lake-18km away for a water sports-water scooter,ride across islands in speed boats etc.
You can see all in Mahableshwar cum Panchgini in four days.

Since you have kids with you Mahableshwar and Panchgani togather 3 to 4 days are fine and lonavala 2 days are good.

We had recently been to mahableslwar on 19.03.08. to 22.03.08.We had gone by car via route of pune to panchgani its little short distance app 270 km.we stayed at panchgani at summer plaza no
997586999 mr ks.acharya manager check site http://www.summerplazaresort.com.It has 3star facilities with all recration.we had paid 11000/- for 2 day stay.Beware if you going by car refuse paying entry charges at post because they are all local people unofficially collect money.You can say we been in this place from many days as reason to avoid payment or elsemake onetime entry fee specifying total days stay.later we left for mahableshwar for accomodation at bharat hotel tel no02168/260233.It has really good quality room with good service.It is located next to fountian hotel thats to nice hotel.ITS REALLY FUN OUT AT THIS LOCATION.

2 days are sufficient for all sight seeing in mahabaleshwar - you can cover all points that are approachable by motorable roads in 2 days at a very steady pace! I would suggest one day more for tapola, 1 day for all sight seeing in panchgani. On the way back you could spend half a day at sherbaug in Panchgani.
