Hi all.
We are going to Haridwar on 20th Jan for a wedding. After that we have 4 days. We are planning to go to : Rishikesh on 21st . And then leave for Manali the same day. Will it we feasable to travel from Rishikesh to Manali on the same day. Or shud we break our journey to Shimla, night halt at Shimla nad then next day to Manali. Please suggest. Also, please suggest some places to visit near Manali or Haridwar.

i am sure u will love this trip as i took the same trip

in the month of may and it was amazing. well to begin

with when r in Haridwar dont forget to visit

PATANGALI YOGPEETH they have some rare herbs

and u could get them if u like.
Now coming to Rishikesh it depends on when u reach

there we reached there in the evening so stayed

there at hotel Ganga Palace they have affordable

rooms. in the evening we crossed river ganges by

ferry and when to PARMARTH ASHRAM and

attended the breath taking Ganga arti . after that

we had dinner at choti wala restaurant and this time

since ferry service was closed so we crossed river

ganges by LAXMAN JHULA.
Next day we left for manali, make sure that u do

this early morning as on the way u will cross Dhera

dun , in my case we didint stop there and just

crossed and started for manal. it was a road trip for

us and it was amazing . u no u see all king of unique

trees and plantation .in manali u have the company

baag(garden ) and Kempty falls (which is a waterfall).
u even have ropeway.we didnt spend

the night in manali as it was terribly expensive and

we started our climb down Manali at 5. 30 pm as it

was getting dark.I think Shimla doent come in any

and way between rishikesh and manali, and to

continue my story we spend the night in rishikesh.
if u r travelling dont forget to get Rourkee

kee peere and kulfi of moradabad.
i had a nice trip hope u too have lots of fun.bye.....

Thanks for the reply. I will definately visit those places. One more thing, can you give me names of gud hotels. Also , I heard there are a lot of adventure sports activity going on there. Can you give me some details about which one I will be able to do at that point of time... (Rafting , para-gliding)

In haridwar u can visit manasi devi temple and chanda devi temple, both are above hills and very beautiful, and also there are lots of other temples and ashrams in around haridwar and rishikesh,
I suggest u take a booking in garhwal mandal hotels or resorts for your halt and also for river rafting in rishikesh, take the rafting and i am sure u will enjoy

it is better you plan for massuurie instead of Manali . It will take just two hours to reach there . It is good hill station .

I think Kaashaane is talking about Mussoorie and not Manali! Mussoorie has Company garden and Kempti Fall and not Mussoorie! I have visited Mussoorie loads of times and if u need any info, u can post back! Manali is way off from Rishikesh-Hardwar and will take atleast 10-12 hrs. to reach, via Ambala-Chandigarh-Kullu and 3 days may not be worth it.
Sanjeev is right, instead u shd. plan Mussoorie, and if u meant that only, then great!
