I am taking a connecting flight through Singapore and have to wait there for about 8 hours. What all can I do at the Singapore airport? Is there a way of going to the city and coming back in this time?
Dear friend, Singapore CHANGI airport is like a city. You can spend your 8 hours in the airport and really enjoy every minute. However if you want to go to town (provided u have a visa) there are any number of ways to do so; bus / underground train. However I am not sure how much u can see in this short time.
There is a service offered by the Singapore Tourism dept at the airport itself. A free bus tour of Singapore starting at the airport and ending there a few hours later, designed specifically for transit passengers like you. Unfortunately, I do not have the exact details of where to find this at the airport, but ask around as soon as u land and i am sure u wl find it...the place is soo soo well organised. Or mebbe browse the net if u have the time prior to departure and get a fix of the location of the counter. Have fun !! Cheers
You can take a tour of Sentosa Island and see the underwater world, dolphin show, cable car ride etc. Taxis be available from the airport to Sentosa. Once inside sentosa they have their own free transport to various points. Alternatively, if you prefer shopping, just take a cab to the Mustafa mall in little India and you can easily vile away 8 hours.
