hi,

i and my wife are visiting coorg this weekend for 2N/3D. we took package in which we will be picked up from bangalore in indica and will be staying in Raksh cottage.

Now my wife is afraid that, is it safe because only we two are traveling and will be staying alone in cottage. So please reply me is it safe to go? will there be any security issues?

Hi, I have never heard of any incidents of harassment in Coorg so far. However, I am not sure what the background of Raksh is or where exactly it is located - but I am sure there is no need to worry. The Coorgis (or Kodavas as they are locally known) are a proud race and I am sure they will not tolerate any misbehaviour in their district. I guess the usual precautions are applicable - use a recognised taxi service, behave modestly, don't flaunt any jewelery or cash, keep your luggage locked, etc. Enjoy!

Coorg is always compartively a safe region. I have never heard of any bad incidents in coorg. It is safe even to visit along with the entire family and even with kids. To know more about Coorg, visit

Hi!
Coorg is one of the safest holiday destinations in India. Just be careful when you track down in forests alone without any guide. Local people are one of the best behaved people I came across. Don't worry and have a nice time.

Nice to hear that you are visiting coorg.

It is definitely a wonderful place and you need not worry about anything. People here are very kind, god fearing and they go out of their way to help people.
