Digha is a sea side about 1920kms. from kolkata. A car journey would take between 4-5 hours. The road condition from Kolkata to Nandakumar is excellent through the national highway (NH-6). Road condition deom Nandakumar to Digha (SH-4) is reasonably good. I do not think you should have a problem regarding roads For your information, Kolkata roads are better than many cities in India. Come here to see it yourself buddy.

Digha is a wonderful place in West Bengal. :D The car journy would take only 5 hours.Road condition is good upto highway but after Kathi is quite impossible to seat properly in car.If you are planning to visit Digha please try to visit Tajpur and Mandermoni. Both are just on the way.Tajpur is very wellknown place and having good sceneries also. The sea beach is fully covered with red crabs which showing like red carpet.Mandermoni is good place to spend time with ur close ones(Very romantic).

From the downtown of Kolkata the Old Digha Bus stand is 213 kms. If you go by car it will take around four hours considering a stoppage of 15 minutes on the way. A large number of private and government bus services are available. From the centarl bus stand of Kolkata, Dharmatala CSTC, and private bus services are availabe. AC non-Volvo, and Volvo buses. Buses are also available from the outskirts of Kolkata such as Salt Lake, Garia, Ultadanga, Barasat, & Behala. Buses useually takes around 4 and half hours.
However, Digha has two parts Old Digha and aat a distance of two kilometers from it is New Digha.
Finally, travelling a distance of 1920 kms. one can reach Mumbai from Kolkata.
If you make your journy by car, from Kolkata take the route of 2nd Hoogly Bridge or Vidyasagar setu and Kona exressway. From Dhulagar you will leave Kona exressway and take National Highway 6. From Nandakumar leave NH41 and take Digha state highway. The road condition is moderate and is extremely bad for a streach of 5 kilometers near Kanthi (Kontai).
Approximate Distances:
Kolkata - Kona - Kolaghat: 65 Km
Kolaghat - Nandakumar : 30 Km
