Best Route from Pune to Goa

Hi finally booked resort in Goa
Will be going by road to goa and plan a night halt at kolhapur
Please suggest the best route from pune to Goa
Also please suggest a suitable economical hotel for a night halt at kolhapur
I am along with my wife and two daughters.
At present I plan to go via route Pune - Kolhapur - Nipani - Ajra - Amboli - Goa
Pls suggest any better route than above if any and also suitable place for night halt at Kolhapur
Thanx a lot in advance for your valuable suggestions

I have no idea on the road route .

But can say the train for air route is good to my experience.
I suggest you can expolore expedia.co.in or tripadvisor for more info on good hotels in panjim and south goa...

The taxis in goa are too expensive so try to negotiate with them as possible.

in kolhapur, you can halt at Mouli lodge, which is very next to the mahalaxmi temple,
if you want higher end, opal lodge is good.

Hi Kailash,
From Kolhapur, you have 3 . 1st as you suggested, 2nd via Gaganbawada Ghat and 3rd via Radhanagari-Phonda Ghat. These 2 routes starts from Rankala Lake in Kolhapur. So there will be no issue in finding these . In Kolhapur, you will find many hotels on the route towards ST stand. Dont stay at any hotel near Mahalaxmi Temple , as parking facility is very limited near temple.

I stayed in following Hotels and these Hotels are good and economical for 1 night stay viz. Tourist Hotel ( On main road towards ST stand), Opal Hotel ,Hotel Landmark ( On main road towards ST stand)
